So Dog Meat, your dog companion in fallout 3, sounds awesome. he fights for you he searches for treasure for you and who knows maybe he can play dead.
Which dog would you choose to have your back, Dog Meat or that unnamed mutt from fable 2?
Whats the best animal companion of all time?
Fallout 3
Game » consists of 45 releases. Released Oct 28, 2008
In Bethesda's first-person revival of the classic post-apocalyptic RPG series, the player is forced to leave Vault 101 and venture out into the irradiated wasteland of Washington D.C. to find his or her father.
Dog Meat or that lame fable 2 dog?
the fable 2 dog you can name it, train it, tell it off, reward it and it finds tressure and helps fighting enemys so its just like the fallout dog but much better
interesting that alot of ppl are thinking the fable 2 dog will be a hit.
In theory it sounds pretty cool i just dont trust it will come through on peter molyneux's promisses.
i'm gona buy both games but the fallout3 dog looks meaner so it still gets my vote.
The big difference between the two I think is Fallout's Dogs can die in any combat, Fable 2's Dog doesn't work that way.
Mark my words people. I don't know when, and I don't know how, but I've got a gut feeling that Fable 2 dog isn't gonna make it to see the end credits. Maybe get himself exploded during some elaborate cut scene to save your guy's life. That Dog seems like something they're really trying to get you emotionally invested in. They have to be building up to a big moment for that dog, unlike any of Fallout's dogs.
You havent even seen dogmeat in action besides the few seconds of him walking down a street... ATM Im going to say the Fable 2 dog will be better, but thats simply because I have seen him in action and it also sounds like Lionhead is putting more emphious on the dog then Betheseda is putting on dogmeat and judging from past games Lionhead know how to make good AI.
"The big difference between the two I think is Fallout's Dogs can die in any combat, Fable 2's Dog doesn't work that way.Yeah that's what they said in the Bombcast. That would be too heartwrenching though, imagine you spend so many hours playing the game and then suddenly, you dog is a pile of meat.

That would be sad
No one said the dog in Fallout 3 would be as robust as the one in Fable, just overall Dog Meat for choice because he rocks, and is cooler. Just saying that out loud though...that so much damn work was put into a dog in that game, and the way Peter M talks about mainly just that, really turned me off from that game.
I like Dogmeat he seemed far more apparent in the game and I actually wanted to protect him since there was a chance he could die, so I became attatched to him.
The Dog from Fable 2 is far more useful than Dogmeat, plus it has intelligence and acts like a dog. The only thing that Dogmeat is good at is standing in your way.
I think the clear choice is "Dog" from Half-Life 2.
Between the two options though, I'd go with the mutt from Fable II.
I like how you worded the title.
"FUCKING KICK ASS DOG MEAT (YEAH!) or that stupid limp dick other one. from that one game."
anyway, I choose neither. I like "Dog" from Half-Life 2.
Fable 2 dog because I actually grew attached to that fellow, while I kept Dogmeat in my Megaton house most of the game in fear he would go meandering and get himself killed.
No contest. Fable 2's dog is more useful, versatile and way more entertaining.
In Fallout 3, Dogmeat's purpose was staying in my home in Megaton so he wouldn't run off and die every time I brought him outside.
They gave a perk to make him respawn in Broken Steel, but you have to run all the way to Vault 101 to get him, and he's still useless as hell. Especially against the new higher lvl enemies.
