Bethesda's done a great job producing regularly scheduled downloadable (some might call it episodic) content for Fallout 3 this year. It's done a somewhat less great job of posting that content in a functional state, though, with things like corrupted files and DRM-related installation issues preventing a lot of people from actually playing packs like The Pitt and Broken Steel until a few days after launch.

Today the fourth DLC, Point Lookout, is officially out there, and it looks like the most substantive release yet, with a new overworld map somewhere around a fifth the size of the landscape in the original game. But I can't help wondering: Does it work? Have you been able to download and play this add-on without incident? Is the fourth time the charm for Bethesda?

I'd be curious to hear what issues you've run into with Point Lookout, if any--or simply what you think of the DLC and what it adds to the game, if not. Post 'em!

Worked just fine for me. I finished it this morning and I think it's the best expansion/add-on for Fallout 3 yet.

I think this is the best so far, however, I have suffered frame rate issues, this weird sound glitch where it seems as my character is kicking around  an object while he walks, and my game crashed twice.
However, other than that, I had a blast playing through the game.

Hrm.  Picked up the card for this at gamestop this weekend.  9.99 for the card means that technically it was cheaper than buying it online proper.  So I'm going to go home and dl this.  Stupid work.

    Worked for me, but unfortunately I had a real bad time with it, hated it ;_;

Edit: To clarify, I hated the quests, thought the artwork, layout and quests were very very poorly designed in comparison to the main game, and while the map is a large aread to explore, there aren't really any notable areas aside from the main questline which in itself is no longer than operation anchorage and in my opinion, utterly devoid of interest, I found it very boring, unlikable and poorly designed. I kinda annoyed really after enjoying The Pitt and Broken Steel so much.

Seriously... I was waiting for a little word elsewhere before deciding if I'm going to buy. I think I may finally be all Fallout 3'ed out. I thought Broken Steel was going to basically be the end to the game, and to go back for some trivial sidequest now seems rather anticlimactic.

I love that it's gotten to the point where there's an article checking if the latest add-on is as broken as the others.

I keep wanting to go back to Fallout 3, then I remember the bugs, framerate issues and other nasties. It still crashes when I try it.

I've run into three cases where my game froze but only once did it really inconvenience me. Other than that it's really unbelievable how much they've shoved into this one after playing all the previous DLC, really great area to mess around in a lots of quests.

I've had no technical problems, but I do have a problem. I was walking in the swamps and FOUR motherfucking Feral Ghoul REAVERS came on me at once. I didn't stand a fucking chance. I thought the Presidential Metro Tunnels were hard, Christ.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying it. It is definitely the best (and hardest) add-on yet, and the Double-Barreled Shotgun is fucking awesome.

I actually had my game freeze up during the Bog mission.  As soon as I woke up in front of the tree thing and started to move my game froze up.  It did this even after I loaded a previous save.  Deciding I wasn't gonna let this happen to me I went to the dashboard, cleared my cache and rebooted the game.  It started to lag a little when I walked away from the tree but after that little hang up I made it all the way out and to the church.
So far I'm having a great time.  Definitely worth the 10 bones.

I LOVED it.  Most worthwhile purchase of any of the download-able content packages.  The quests feel on the level of the original game in quality and thoughtfulness.    The backwoods feel also is a nice change of pace from the usual fallout world.  There are some instances of pop in occurring and slow down.  I'd loved to see a quick look on this.

The only issue I have is that when things get busy, the frame rate drags a little.

Apart from that, another superb download!

Nothing but frustration with this DLC. first off it made fawkes go back to the museum or whatever, even though he was waiting in my house at the time. ( nowhere near me or the boat).  All the enemies look retarded and are annoying to listen too.  Overall this expansion is just too hard,  my character is a fairly low level, but they should have made this where even people under level 25 or 30 can play this comfortably.  I was an 18 my first try at doing any missions, and it didn't go so well.  I have levelled up to 20 since and will be attemping this again tomorrow.  Oh and I hope you have ALOT of money cause, it costs over 300 caps to go  1 WAY on the ferry.  A pretty dumb concept if you ask me.

At this point I am only playing this to get the achievements that i payed the ten dollars for, and certainly not for enjoyment.  The DLC for fallout has been getting progressively worse and after this one, I will not be buying the next DLC for this game.  Thanks for nothing bethesda, enjoy my 10 dollars.

My game froze and it corrupted my save. Luckily I don't have to go too far back (thanks to multiple saves), but it seems that once again Bethesda fail to make their DLC completely bug free. Whoever's testing this stuff needs to get fired... pronto.

Probably the best of the DLC's, and when combined with Broken Steel it makes it even more worthwhile. The quests are diverse and interesting, and there are a couple of side missions you need to hunt around to discover. Not tell me Bethesda, if you could do this now, why wouldn't we have had the same for Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt?
