Words Cannot Describe How Amazing Fallout 3 Is 0

I'll be honest by saying that at first, I didn't care for Fallout 3. I had not played the original games, so I really didn't know what the whole series was about and whether or not I would actually enjoy the game. A few gameplay videos from Youtube later, and I'm now on my second character clocking in at over 50 hours of playtime on this masterpiece. Fallout 3 is a post-apocalyptic shooter from , the masterminds of Oblivion, which I am ashamed that I haven't had a chance to play. Although the ga...

Fallout 3 was fun, gross and immersive all in one. 0

I think Bethesda learned a lot from their mistakes with Oblivion.  In Fallout 3, they gave us a clever world, one you that want to explore.  They gave you interesting sidequests, ones you want to complete.  The battle system was fun, the graphics were great.  Fallout 3 was a complete turnaround.  I had a blast with it from start to finish.  There were a couple hiccups though, mostly with the level capping.  I seriously hate level capping, and at lvl20?  Jeez.  I wasn't even half way done with t...

Reviewing Fallout 3 as a semi-sequel to Oblivion 0

I admit that I never played any games in the Fallout series but I did play a mega-ton (see what I did there) of Oblivion. Seeing how Bethesda made both and based most of the elements from the Oblivion framework (as well as add on to it) I had to check it out. So I went to the rental store and got myself a copy of Fallout 3.The game starts out by showing the debut trailer for some odd reason along with the song 'I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire' by The Inkspots (which has been stuck in my he...

A more action oriented Fallout scenario. 0

Fallout 3 is a massive game that offers dozens of hours of pure Western RPG action. Like Oblivion, Bethesda has promised to deliver several packs of DLC. As of now, they plan to launch one piece of DLC every month ending with March. This first expansion titled, Operation Anchorage, will thrust you into a simulation taking place in Fallout’s past before the nuclear holocaust. You’ll be in charge of assisting the U.S Army in dealing with a Chinese invasion in Alaska, no Cyborg Palin included. Opera...

Fallout 3 0

I haven't played any of the other Fallout games, but from what I can tell, Bethesda's first stab at the series takes the skill system and trademark sense of humor and transplants them effectively into Oblivion's engine. Coming out two and a half years later Fallout 3 isn't the big step forward I was hoping for, but it's still a great game when you play it. It still has some of Oblivion's glitches and awkward moments, but it does do a fair amount of things better. Characters look better, and ther...

Fallout 3 -- Best Game of 2008 0

I’ve written and deleted at least 9 opening paragraphs to my Fallout 3 review, each entailing and praising a different aspect of the game which I believe, without question, to be the game of the 2008. Throughout this game you do more than just push buttons and read text; you make decisions, you struggle to survive, you build relationships, friendships, a house, you save and destroy those who have nothing and everything, and you build a future for the world you want to call home among everything...

Fallout 3: The Pitt Review 0

The Pitt has finally arrived, taking you through the journey of a slave in the nuclear remains of Pittsburgh. Along the way you’ll encounter new characters, enemies, and acquire new weapons and armor. To start off you’ll need to listen to the new distress signal that can be heard across the Wasteland, starting your journey to The Pitt. You’ll meet up with an escaped slave, Wernher, who tells you how to gain access to the Pittsburgh ruins. Once there you’ll almost immediately have to make some ch...

Pros and Cons: Fallout 3 0

Alright guys, picture this: The peeps who made Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion make a game very similar that but set it in post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. Well, welcome to the world of Fallout 3, a game just like I described it in the previous sentence. Coming into this game a huge Oblivion fan, I was expecting huge world to explore with seemingly endless quests and much fun to be had. And, I am happy to say Fallout 3 fulfilled those expectations and even usurped them numerous times.  Pros:  - There...

Not as good as actual game. Better than other DLC. 0

The main quest is interesting revolving around a rivalry that takes place in the island. The story is unrelated to the setting which made the plot seem disconnected with other events happening on the island. You would expect to find out more about the tribes and locals of Point Lookout by completing the main quest but instead you go on this tangent plot line of characters that migth as well have inhabited the Wasteland. The new weapons are mostly for mele attacks which is the least interesting c...

Point Lookout DLC Review 0

When I first heard about the concept of DLC on consoles around the 360 launch, point lookout is exactly the type of DLC that imagined in my head. Good size, well made and fairly priced. Looking back at past fallout 3 DLC operation anchorage was too linear and combat focused for my liking, I think the pitt was a big step forward and gave me more of the fallout that I love but maybe a bit too short for the price and broken steel let’s be honest was more of a fix than DLC but good none the less. No...

Fun but ultimately disappointing 0

Being the supposed final Fallout 3 DLC, Mothership Zeta obviously came with high expectations. Unfortunately for many, those lofty expectations probably won't be completely fulfilled. However, this is still a fun addon that will add several hours of gameplay as well as some nice alien loot for the player to enjoy.  Mothership Zeta takes place entirely aboard an alien spaceship, and like the previous DLCs is relatively combat focused with your PC having to mow down hoards of angry aliens. Fortuna...

I don't want to set the world on fire.... 3

Story: Fallout 3 takes place roughly 200 years in an alternative future hat broke off form ours around 1960..The short story is that there was a huge global war between China and the US resulting in everything and everybody getting nuked.. You are born ( part of the game even :) ) in an underground vault and one day you find your father missing, turns out he had a spat with the Vault leader and he have left the vault and you find yourself hunted so you have no choice than to leave it too....

Flawed, but still fun 0

caption Fallout 3 is a game that's been a long time in the making. The original designers of the series have since bowed out of license, with the task falling to Bethesda Studios, best known for their work on the Elder Scrolls series of RPGs, and this is apparent at the very beginning of the game. The world of Fallout is a post-apocalyptic future where mankind has fled to the safety of a series of underground vaults throughout the United States to protect themselves from nuclear war and the hars...

A massive, open world RPG with near endless hours of gameplay 0

Pros:-Massive world to explore-Nearly endless amounts of gameplay-Freedom to make who you want, go where you want, and do what you want-Insane amount of content and variety-VATS is great-RPG elements are deep, expansive, and addictingCons:-3rd person perspective is clumsy-Some combat mechanics are clunky-A little buggy/glitchyFallout 3 comes from the same team that brought us the amazing Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion, and while there are definately some similarities, Fallout 3 retains it's own ident...

"This is a pretty cool gam- What? THats it?!?!" 0

Well, Fallout 3 is.. well... Out. Having played it for longer then i should have i have strong mixed feelings. Yes, it looks like Oblivion with guns, But at the same time still has bits of Fallout goodness Sprinkled through out. The Controls on the 360 were Great in my opinion, Felt like Bethesda worked on making it Multi-platform Friendly..Not too many glitches aside from the occasional NPC walking into a wall in an attempt to get to me (MIrelurks should learn to put on no clipping). One of the...

feel the radioactive love 0

Before you play fallout 3 or read this review there’s one thing you need to know. Fallout 3 is the single buggiest game I’ve ever played. And its also one of the greatest games ive ever had the chance to enjoy. During the game i've seen deathclaws (the games uber monster) fall directly up into the sky, beaten protectrons slowly and staidly start to stretch across the room and the outside world literally start to break up into intangible squares in the sky. None of these things affected my fun...

Qualified Goodness 0

From the get-go you feel the roots of a Bethesda game planted throughout Fallout 3 and depending upon your feelings for Oblivion you will either love or hate this game: "Sweet! Oblivion with guns!"or"Great...Oblivion with guns..."Now before I progress allow me to preface that aside from some limited experience with the second Fallout game I did not posses a great deal of knowledge of the universe as I was caught up in Baldur's Gate around that time.  So I had no preconceived notion other than th...

Review: Mothership Zeta 0

Okay, so I just finished playing through Mothership Zeta, the new DLC quest add-on for Fallout 3. Simply put: it's good. There are a lot of new things to see and do. The alien weapons are powerful and fun to use and the Main Quest of KICKING ALIEN ASS has many interesting characters, one of which is a totally hilarious samurai. My only gripe is that it felt like there wasn't much to do, but for the sake of stretching out the play time, they made the mothership a fucking LABYRINTH and I constantl...

Fallout 3 PC Review. 2

In the future, civilization survived nuclear warfare by relocating into underground vaults. Fallout 3 begins as you the player are literally born in Vault 101 into the arms of your father (Liam Neeson). As a child you are introduced to the games character creation system where you are able to increase a number of your personal traits such as Luck and Strength. You are also given an electronic device called the Pip-Boy 3000 which tracks your health, skills and objectives. On your nineteenth birth...

The best DLC so far and an absolute must buy. 0

Fallout 3's downloadable content endeavours have been churned out on a pretty regular basis throughout this year, with Bethesda seemingly gaining momentum on each successive release. Operation Anchorage set your wastelandian denizen in a brand-new snowy environment filled with different enemies and weapons, but its sole emphasis on combat left many feeling unfulfilled. The Fallout series has always been less about shooting fools than convincing fools to shoot themselves in my book, so Op. Anchor...

Spend some time in the wasteland, you'll love it. 0

Fallout 3 is the long awaited third entry in the Fallout franchise. While the past games focused on a more diablo style gameplay, Fallout three ( Made by bethesda, creators of the elder scrolls series) Plays more like a turned based RPG/ FPS. The most notable feature in the game is V.A.T.S, When in V.A.T.S the game pauses and lets you pick, what enemy you want to shoot and where you want to shoot them( head, legs, arms etc.) And it's here where the game is at it's best. Not only does V.A.T.S giv...

Fallout 3 RE... 0

Like all games, this one could be better. When Im trying to fight my way through Monsters and Gaint Fire Ants of Death it take the littlest thing to kill the character. All this game needs it a motorcycle. Yea, why walk everywhere when a dirt bike or a futureistict pair of wheels will do. Remember when you buy this,...... buy a game guide or you'll be on the internet for an hour wondering where Big Town is. lol. Once you get a hang of it and the rule of being around other people,.... this game c...

Ahhh look at that mushroom cloud! 0

Say hello to Power Armor, an iconic figure of the Fallout franchise. It looks totally badass doesn't it? Brief Overview and History Fallout 3 is a post-apocalyptic, first person shooter, role-playing game from Bethesda, previously Bethesda's most well known and successful title was Elder Scrolls, and being that Fallout 3 came after Oblivion, it really wasn't a surprise that it was built using the Gamebryo engine.  Fallout 3 comes, as you might have guessed, from a series of games, namely...

Welcome to the Wasteland 0

Fallout 3's Capital Wasteland is a cruel and inhospitable place, fraught with danger. A nuclear armageddon has eradicated all but the most basic signs that this was once the capital of the USA. You might see some rubble that was once a house, now inhabited only by relics that were once a person's belongings, charred and rusted. A school building, its notice board still partly intact, serves as a home to a group of raiders. It's a terrible, dreary place where no one in their right mind would want ...

Game breaking issues derail it but it fulfils its ambitions 1

The plot of Fallout 3 follows humanities struggles for life after a nuclear war between China and the United States of America. Clean water and food is sparse whereas the environment is sterile, a few fortunate people managed to endure the war and it’s aftermath inside underground vaults including yourself, however, your way of life is about to change for good. Trailing after your father you wonder into the desolate American wasteland alone.   An aid to the campaign the protagonist eventually un...

If you ever wondered how a post apocalyptic Washington D.C. would 0

The Fallout series has originated on the PC, but now, it has come to the consoles. While hardcore fans wanted the same crazy Fallout game world, this game is more console orientated, it's more casual. That's not necessarily a bad thing you may say, and it isn't always but there are times when you wish you had the same crazy world from the original PC games. That's of course if you even played it. And if you haven't you won't care much. But for those who did play Fallout 1 and 2 on the PC, this g...

9/10 - Game of the Year 0

I'm going to start off by saying "This has got to be one of the best games this year". I know its cliche, but in my books, nothing tops this game. Fallout 3 has the richest, most intriguing storyline, comparable almost to the half life story arc. From the moment you first step  out of the Vault, your plunged straight into a dark and twisted post-apocalyptic wilderness. When i first started with the quests, i found i was overwhelmed with the things to do, the places to go and the people to speak t...

Fallout 3 Unbelievable 1

When this game came out last year, i wasnt excited by it and refused to buy it. After actually listening to the bombcast and seeing the quick looks on  the dlc which came out i decided to get the game and see what all the hype was about.Im glad to say that the game is fantastic and enjoyed every moment of it. This being a game which you can play in both first and third person and with elements of other genres really sets it apart from other games. The sombre atmosphere through out the game with ...

As a played though this add-on it felt like it was leading up to something big. With all the diffrent machines you come across and the abominations you run into later on and the omonious alien head but it never got there. This was the final DLC and it should have gone all. Instead your left with coridoor crawling repetative actions with an ocsional interestiing machines that make you think "what was this for". Yet nothing is explained. The gunplay was fun and you pick up a few unique wepons but ...

BAM, epic fail.  First off, No stimpacks in the expansion, so your fucked if you dont have them before you go in, be prepared to die, alot. Second, its just a linear path based shooter, for me, fallout 3 was a brilliant open world exploring kinda thing, this is just corrid...

I haven't played Fallout 3 since I beat it in... well, November 2008. So, almost 2 years since I've been to the Capital Wasteland. I've been buying up the add-ons, but it' wasn't until a few of my friends kept going on and on about this mission or that and re-playing this incredibly open game and I decided "Me too! I shall start up again!"  So I did, and yea it was great. Even better with the DLC too!  I won't get too into the story, the voice acting (or how you can spot the same voice actor al...

Fallout 3 0

Fallout 3The fallout series has been regarded as the pinnacle of  post apocalyptic gaming for it’s gritty realism, dark story, and impressive RPG like game play; but can Fallout 3 follow it’s older brethren to glory or will it be cast down to the shadows? Fallout 3 delivers on all three points with grace, by adding an in-depth story that adds to the already excellent plot, an astounding first person view of the immense world that surrounds you with an array of new monsters, npc’s and weapons. Endless Fun 0

I overheard a friend talk about this game, it didn't really intrigue me until he said "I put my bottle caps in an oven." It sounded really weird, and I like weird. I brought it the next day, and I wasn't disappointed. That was 4 years ago.The game's look is fantastic. I seen enough apocalypse games to keep me a life time, but the '50s style just makes this game unique, as well as a lot of other things. The game's quests are endless, when you think you have done them all, there are more. I love t...

GAME OVER MAN!! 0

While not the best of the DLC, Mothership Zeta was a fun experience that made it worth the money.  While wandering the wasteland you pick up a radio signal that takes you to the fallen Alien Ship.   Once you arrive you get beamed up, put in an observation chamber and then the adventure begins.  It is all about freeing yourself and some new friends at first, until a small (but obvious) twist shows up.    Similar to Operation Anchorage, Mothership Zeta is a pretty linear experience.  The game offe...

A Capitol Achievement 0

Disclaimer: I have never played Oblivion, therefor did not hold any pre-assumptions or correlation to previous Bethesda developed games.Fallout 3 is an epic adventure of monumental proportions. In the year 2277, you are living underground in a "vault" built for human habitation away from the hazardous and dangerous realities of the world above. When your father, a respected scientist, flees the vault unannounced, your character chooses to follow him into the wasteland. What follows is a series o...

Operation: Anchorage Review 0

Operation: Anchorage is the first add-on Bethesda has released for their blockbuster hit Fallout 3. The game starts off with you receiving a mysterious radio transmission from some ex-Brotherhood of Steel soldiers and making it your job to track their location and find out what's up. Turns out, there's a hidden bunker filled with weapons and armor from the conflicts in Alaska. Of course there's a catch; The only way to access the locked room is by going hooking yourself up to a computer that wil...

Fear not, fans of the originals, rejoice all. 0

When people hear Fallout 3, the most common complaints are that it either doesn't stay true to the Black Isle style gameplay, or that it is "Oblivion with guns."  Thankfully, these critics may rest easy because Fallout 3 unquestionably delivers.    For the uninitiated, Fallout 3's setting is basically this:  what if you took the future, but the future as it was imagined in the 50s (atomic cars, robots etc.), then nuked all of it.  It is an action-RPG that has a heavy emphasis on survival as ...

It's not without faults for sure, but it's still an awesome game. 0

ProsVATS makes blowing guys up pretty satisfying. A bunch of interesting side quests. Gets the whole Post Apocalyptic atmosphere down good. A larger voice cast in comparison to the three-four people they had for Oblivon. ConsThe main quest is extremely short and the conclusion is unsatisfying (though future DLC might rectify that) A lot of the humor just fell flat with me. Despite the fact you can get companions you never actually feel like you NEED them, the game seems pretty doable solo. I...

300 Word Review - Fallout 3 0

Fallout 3 is a post-apocalyptic role-playing game from the creators of the Elder Scrolls series, Bethesda Softworks. The game is set 200 years after a nuclear war almost completely annihilated the entire human race, if not for the Vaults which are underground bomb shelters set up by the government. You play as the 'Lone Wanderer', a young adult who lived in Vault 101 his/her entire life and escaped into the decimated ruins of Washington DC.  The main goal you are given at the start of the gam...

Massive RPG 0

This game mixes the RPG skill system with a shooter, with VATS thrown in.  As a FPS, it doesn't do so well, but VATS helps to make up for this.  The graphics are superb, if somewhat brown, but it is a nuclear wasteland.  The moral decision system is quite straightforward, and I found that there seem to be more rewards for being a good character.  Maybe it's just me though.  The weapons are fun, and fun to use.  Limbs are destructable, and its a spectacle watch a raider be blown to bits by a shot...

Fun If Your Character Knows Which End of a Gun Goes Boom 0

Do you like fighting? Do you like fighting with guns? Does your Fallout 3 character like fighting with guns? Then this, my friend, may be the downloadable content for you. Operation Anchorage does something interesting, it actually fleshes out the Fallout universe, something that is normally relegated to the pieces of information and data that are scattered through the various wastelands. The best Xbox 360 game of 2008. 0

If you were to buy one game for the the 360 right now, it should be Fallout 3. I bought this game on day one, not expecting to play this game for that long - Gears 2 was coming out the next week. However, I was completely wrong, and to this date I have played over 100 hours. The game is set in 2270 (I think) in a post-apocalyptic nuclear setting in Washington D.C. The bomb dropped in 2077, and people stay in fallout shelters (Vaults). Nobody ever enters or leaves the vault, or consequences will ...
