My favorite RPG would be Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES. Whats your favorite RPG?
Favorite RPG of all time?
Persona 4. A cliched example I now but I still love it (and this was before the ER.)
@Kyreo: I don't see how your lack of fondness for animes should stop you from playing any Persona games unless you hate Japan. The series is crazy Japanese. Particularly 3 and 4.
" Tales of Symphonia. "I'll agree with you on that. It's the first RPG that always comes to mind when someone asks the question.
I might say Deus Ex, Kotor or Final Fantasy X, but I am going to go out on a limb and say Anachronox just so anyone reading this thread will look that game up. It is a really great game, flawed, but pretty amazing. Basically the last commercial game made on the Quake 2 engine at the peak of Quake 3's use made by Ion Storm Dallas, the ones who unfortunately made Daikatana not the Deus Ex / Warren Spector guys. It is a western made Japanese style RPG for PC, which is pretty unique. You play Sylvester "Sly" Boots a private investigator on a Galaxy spanning quest. You gain really cool party members such as a Superhero from a planet of super heroes and an entire Planet which shrinks down to join your crew. The game is hilarious while the main plot is compelling and is just serious enough to stay interesting.
Would have loved to see a sequel but that will never happen. Like I said its not my favorite RPG of all time but I really love its unique style and think about it a lot. Truth is I really need to get back to finishing more of my huge back catalog of RPGs such as newer stuff like Final Fantasy XIII, Dragon Age and Yakuza 3. To older stuff like Final Fantasy XII, Dark Cloud 2 and Dragon Quest XIII. To even older stuff like Baldur's Gate / Baldur's Gate II and Final Fantasy 6. I'm really bad at finishing RPGs, but I start tons of them. Hopefully I will find the time soon and be able to make a more intelligent choice about my favorite.
Either Baldur's Gate 2 or KotOR. BG II is a much better game than the first one on multiple levels, while KotOR was my introduction to RPGs as a whole. I wonder what I would think of it now though...
KOTOR 1 and 2, FFVI and IX, Fallout, Jade Empire and even Mass Effect even though it is really lite on RPG elements. Out of those KOTOR 1 is the best, simply for its fantastic expansion to the Star Wars Universe while adding great characters and gameplay. 2nd favourite is probably Fallout for obvious reasons.
Hmm....KOTOR 1, Morrowind, Oblivion, or Fallout 3.
Haven't really played many JRPGs other than Kingdom Hearts 1 and watching all of the P4 endurance run (which has convinced me to get numero 5)
Just got Demon's Souls today, which I'm having a blast with, so it could be up there with my favorites.
@Gabriel: i'm the same guy....FF7 is my favorite, FFX close second, and FFXIII probably my third favorite....aside from Final Fantasy's I really like Disgaea and Star Ocean
Yes. End of story.Have I missed anything by not playing the Persona games? I'm not too fond of anime... so, should I check these games out or what? "
Chrono Trigger. Some of my other favorites; Fallout 3, Makai Kingdom, The WItcher, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy 6 and 9, Pools of Radiance, Dragon Quest 5, Breath of Fire 2, Lufia 2, and Suikoden 1 & 2,
I never played Terranigma, but I enjoyed Illusion of Gaia more than Zelda. Looks like a have a game to check out for the weekend.
Final Fantasy XIII... Shoot me. Anyways that followed by Persona 4, Persona 3, Final Fantasy VII, Mass Effect, and Folklore.
