Feminists vs. Fat Princess
Haha that game looks awesome :D And what the hell are they complaining about? I'm a woman and sometimes I can get a bit pissed off if people make assumptions about me but jesus christ they're making a mountain out of a mole hill! The idea of a fat princess is fucking awesome, it's really cute and cool and the treasure chest idea they came up with is boring and bollocks. Stupid feminists.
Honestly, when I saw the game's title, I saw this reaction coming a mile away.
Leave it to the Femi-Nazis and Vagi-thugs to complain about a game where a woman becomes obese. Stop the presses and shut everything down! There's a crisis brewing!
"God I hate feminists. Not because I don't think women should have equal rights, but because the majority of them want women to be better off than men. If it was called "Fat Prince" and was about fattening up a dude, would anyone complain? No.
"
This is exactly how I feel. Pretty sure Women do have the same rights as men. It's pretty funny when they start going off about how Women are "Objectified" by the media :]
Do people not get the concept of Fat Princess? Replace flags, with weight, which the other team can control, making it harder on the versing team. I mean, seriously its not a big deal. XD
This is exactly how I feel. Pretty sure Women do have the same rights as men. It's pretty funny when they start going off about how Women are "Objectified" by the media :]"Exactly. I am a firm believer in "Equal Rights, Equal Fights."
Oh boy is this silly.
But then again, it should have been expected. Remember, feminists always get up in arms when you have to save a princess in a game and in this one you also make her fat by stuffing her with delicious cake. The developers were begging for noise from feminists.
At least the controversy will give us all a nice laugh.
outside the gaming world, racism, feminism, and other foolish hatreds are part of the norm, so in this case they look past the fact that it's a game and apply it to the real world. sad really. if more people acted like gamers we probably wouldn't have some of the problems we have today
How about complaining about Naomi's plunging v-line in MGS4?
Or how every goddamn game girl has jugs the size of watermelons to go with waist lines you could fit in a medium sized McDonald's cup?
Shit, what about ladies in games having a major propensity of showing their midruff?
This is lazy complaining.
"the definition of pointless bitching."
Agreed. They don't get the idea of it. Its not mocking obese women, its about a princess that you try to get fat. If it was a fat king would anyone be saying anything? Nope.
Either way its not a big deal, and its funny that they are even offended... Next thing you know TY Beanie Babies are going to sue Media Molecule for sackboys being too cute.

Haha!! Good one. XD
You aren't a real gamer if you don't like this game. ;-P
To the OP: Next time you want to post a game-specific news story, why don't you put it on that game's forum? ;-)
I love the many assumptions made up about feminists in this thread, namely, "Feminists want to be better off than men."
What the blog post is talking about is perpetuating stereotypes that fat people like to eat all the time. Did people even get that? Or are we just to busy making up stupid assumptions about feminists?
"p4ddym1607 said:Does that mean Fry is a loser or is the fact that me having fry as an avatar is loserish?"What loserskinda ironic when we take a closer look at your avatar xD

"Demyx said:I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. With it being activists, they will most likely pursue this to the end no matter what kind of logic you put against their argument. All I can say at this point is enjoy the ride."reminds me of the debacle with Resident Evil 5 and the African Zombies."This better not start that shit.
"
Good grief, they probably complain Laura Croft degrades women, having to rescue the princess in Super Mario is degrading to women (When IS she gonna step up and save HIS scrawny butt?), and Cooking Mama is degrading too. It should be titled "Cooking Individual who does it by choice because it is fun, definitely not because she is a woman or a mother"
My question is what kind of gamer is reading feminist websites right now? Giantbomb.com is the only site you should currently be on! Add stuff, make stuff better! Shame on you!
Shame!
Giant Bomb prevails.
Actually, that's not true. It would be obese people in general who would be pissed as opposed to at least one, if not two, actually obese "women" bitching about it.
To be fair, I get what they are saying. It shouldn't be cool to laugh at fat people. And it shouldn't be cool to laugh at fat women. And it shouldn't be cool that rich people are rich and poor people are poor and New Orleans is sinking and blah blah blah. You know what? Obesity and being women are facts of life. How dare we use a game make a satirical joke about life! Where do we get off? It's not like we, you know, live it or anything. Seriously, how can these women really think that a game about two teams who swap out their class by changing fuckng hats will somehow brainwash gamers--you know, that group of male-only jackoffs who can't get laid because they're too busy gaming because they can't get laid--into hating both women and fat people at the same time?
And let's be clear, this isn't about "feminists" being crazy, because these women aren't feminists. They're femi-nazis, and there's a huge difference. Wanting gender equality and lacking a sense of humour are not the same thing--and while they aren't mutually exclusive, the people in the latter portion are the ones who make the least sense.
For everyone who didn't click on the link. She wrote this,
"but the only thing I can't figure out is why anyone would want to rescue a fat princess in the first place, since everyone knows that fat girls are unlovable human garbage at whom any sensible bloke would sooner hurl invective than cast a longing glance".
Obviously sarcastic. But then she posted this!
lol at the irony
