No I wouldn't pay for it at all
If Giant Bomb were to have a premium service, would you subscribe?
Hell no. I love GB just as much as the next guy, but I'll never pay for a subscription to a website. Even if it's just optional bonus crap. Never.
No. I don't think it's worth money to subscribe to a website. GB is great and I'm sure I get on here more then I should but that still doesn't warrant spending money.
If I have a job at the time...right now I'm just a lazy college student, but hopefully I can become a lazy college student with a job
I don't think so, but it'd really depend on what it offered.
Simply having benefits, like what IGN provides really isn't enough. And I'm not sure what would be.
" I'm pretty sure I I've answered this question before. "I'm pretty sure too, and my answer is still the same... NO!.
We can all agree that Giant Bomb is a community centric website and making it content based will just be silly. Giant Bomb doesnt even care about exclusive/ early reviews yet. Were still small potatoes. GB will never become another IGN or Gamespot becouse its well.... A bit unprofessional. But thats what makes it great. Theres a lot of love put into the website and doesnt feel industrial or just about clicks and ads.
" Yes, if they offer 24 hour live chat with Vinny. "This. And live match V-pain vs. Ryanator.
Hell yes I would! Although I think the bombsquad would never go for it.
If you listen to one of the first bombcast's they had. That's bombcast not the arrow pointing down podcast's. Then you'll find out that they don't really want to go down this route. That they were looking for quite a few different venues of money making that made it free for us. Advertising, selling shirts etc, etc...
So yeah, I doubt very much that they'd go for it.
I'm a big fan of GB and the community and personalities here and if there were some reasonable benefits, I'd gladly do what I could to support it as long as I'm employed. I like to support a lot of sites that I frequent. Same with podcasts. So the more reasonable the price, the better. But I'd easily pay a couple bucks a year. A magazine subscription is $14/yr usually and you get far more content here.
I wouldn't want any unfair benefits over non-contributors, though. In fact, I would just flat out donate to a "beer and soda fund" every once in awhile and get nothing in return. Cool with me.
I know they're not a charity or anything and I would never want them to be. But come on, they deserve something don't they?
@Branthog:
Completely agree buddy. :-)
" @CL60: Dude! You seem to love this site. As I'm typing this your posting total comes to 6,610.Oh, i do love this site. But I just never thought as premium services for websites to be worth it. I'll buy shirts and stuff though lol.

Fuck no. I can't imagine ever paying for video game information. I love the videos and I would be happy to watch ads in them, but I ain't paying for them. I can't imagine GB offering anything that would make it worth paying for. There is too much supply on the internet for that sort of demand.
Honestly, to me is between maybe and no...
Mostly no because, I don't find thrilling having to pay for something where what im getting now is PERFECT.....
I think if they really wanted to make some more money they need to actually do a shop! *thumbs up* i want a hoodie!! :D
For some odd reason, I still have that GameSpot subscription going.
- I lost interest in their weekly show since they switched the format to daily.
- I lost interest in their emblem system because I wasn't able to use the site for months they way I used to do.
- They lost all of their best editors I still saw on their videos a year ago.
- The live shows with chat went from frequent to quite non-existant.
+ When I end up on the site every now and then I save time not trying to watch a video with twice as long ad reel or see some huge background advertisement.
If Giant Bomb would have subscription I would just cancel GS in an instant and switch fully to GiantBomb, I've used this site so much more during the last few weeks.
Only things tying me to GS is actually the list of games I own which is way too long to import here before I'm fully switching.
I would subscribe even without any additional features, just some subscriber mark under my username would be enough. I wouldn't even care to get rid of those ads since they are so subtle and actually most of them are quite funny. One really cool thing Giant Bomb editors could do is make a weekly live Quick Look, could be quite breeze in editor department since they have done tons of live stuff before.
I know I could just go clicking those ads every day to make the same effect to the company really but that's something even I'm not gonna do. Accepting support donations from fans would be much better or get some some Giant Bomb merchandise out there.
To sum this up:
Yo guys over there at Giant Bomb! Make the damn subscription plan, I'm not expecting anything in return so take your time with the extra content. I'm 100% sure that I'm not gonna enable that GameSpot ad-fest before you get something I can switch to.
