I find it to be fine but I usually have Adblock installed so I don't need to worry about it. I'll click on it a few times to get some money for the Bomb.
Considering how much free entertainment I get from this site, I really don't care if GB puts a few ads up. This is the only site I have disable ad-block for, and I do that because I have followed these guys since the hotspot, and I don't mind supporting them.
Yeah, I was surprised too. It looks very coherent with the site. Doesn't really seemed tacked on. And as long as they don't have flash ads where it becomes full screen when you first go on the site, then I'm good. I hate those!!! (I'm lookin' at you CNet!)

I know, who cares? Do we really need a thread every time GB gets a new ad?
So why is it that every time an ad pops up, we have to post a new forum topic about it to say basically the same thing we say in all the other forum topics about new ads that pop up on the site?
I'm just curious, because it's seems counter-productive and pointless.
I actually signed up to the forums just so I could say how glad I was that GB had an ad up, so that my favorite gaming place could get only stronger, and that it ALONE was making me consider buying Tekken 6 (not at 60 bucks, but maybe at 40). I used to LOVE Tekken, from 1 to 3, and thought if it would also help out the boys, maybe it was time to give Heihachi, Jin, Bryan, Law and Huawrangitang some new play time in HD.
Now, no more ads...
Better re-buy that shit, Namco. My purchase is absolutely riding on it.
I think its fine. If you want to complain, go take a look at IGN. That page is nothing but a fucking Flash nightmare. Seriously, as long as it doesnt get like that its fine. Also, that game sucks ass. Tekken? Seriously, lets see some Persona ads, or best buy or something. Hopefully no gamestop or Barbie adventures games.

Honestly It's their decision and I assume that companies would only being willing to pay any kind of substaintial sum for a front page, top center ad and giantbomb needs as much money as it can get I mean no offense to the giantbomb crew but you guys need to get advertising going strong fast I mean it's been what, like 1 whole year that the site's been up without ads until now?

I thought to myself - stupidly not sharing the idea with the community - just before E3 how cool it would have been if a bunch of users had come together to support the GB crew during E3, with a little banner ad. That would've been rad.
I have looked up the site on 3 different browsers and have yet to see an ad. I also have had Adblock turned off for this site since I got it half a year ago.

If you check out the advertise page at the bottom of any page, GB do indeed have a package which includes fullscreen ads. I don't mind them so long as the artwork is cool, and they usually are for fullscreen stuff.
I'm glad to see that Giantbomb is running advertisements. I want Giantbomb to be successful. I don't even own a console, nor do I have any desire to play Tekken. However, I make sure to click the ad at least a couple of times a day. It's a very small price to pay to keep a website as great as Giantbomb. I get more from this site than I do for a lot of stuff I pay for.
