Now that a new Kid Icarus has finally been released, what old property should Nintendo revive next?
Mach Rider, I'd love to see a modern version, especially if they aren't doing anything with F-zero.
(and hurry up with the new Pikmin!)
I think I've joked about a sequel to Devil World before, but really only because we never got a chance to play it in North America. I don't know a whole lot about that game.
Grrr your poll is not sorted alphabetically!
But fuck yeah Star Tropics! I don't even know what kind of game it would be. Maybe a mashup of BG&E; and Uncharted?

I list my poll answers arbitrarily by the order in which the options come to mind!
But man, I would love to see a new StarTropics. A mix of BG&E and Uncharted sounds like a good combination for it.
@Hailinel:
But they did stop localizing them :P. However, as long as you're listing off obscure Nintendo franchises, I might as well one-up you with some Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru.

ice climbers championship edition dx
You have bombs and can eat the polar bears! Or y'know they could just fix the controls.
But seriously, a new StarTropics, gimme! Just so long as that meh sequel is forgotten.
It's got a lot of neat things it could build on; tropical environments, Jojo weapons with a bunch of minor ones like baseball bats and spike shoes, ray guns, dungeons, aliens, and a rideable, miniature submarine with a robot inside. I say put Retro on it immediately.
747, nevar forget!

New Uniracers anyone?
Rockstar. Not Nintendo.
The correct answer is K: Pro Wrestling.
Thread closed.
Donkey Kong Championship Edition: Dodge ONE THOUSAND BARRELS AAARRRRRGGH!!!!I want to see a new version of Donkey Kong (the original) done in a Namco Generations style.
But seriously I would like to see them bring back that Super Mario Bros. game on the NES. It would be cool to see a modern take on that.

A new Super Mario Bros.? Naaah, what would they do, give Mario a mushroom that makes him fill half the screen or something?
:P
Brace yourself for this radical and crazy idea, but what if, stay with me here, what if they made something NEW instead of milking their old franchises? I KNOW! I know! It's crazy.

@BlaineBlaine: I thought it was Rockstar and Nintendo together (admittedly just got that from the Wikipedia page).
Now I have to check wikipedia...
The fact that Pixar sued DMA, not Nintendo says a lot as far as I'm concerned.
Copyright office says Nintendo holds copyright, but developed by DMA. Who knows who the property belongs to right now.
For this argument, I can see who's franchise it is going either way. That would let Cruisn' be fair game as well.

Why don't you play the current game and enjoy it before you anticipate the next Nintendo revival?
I am. I'm enjoying Kid Icarus immensely, in fact. But that doesn't mean that this isn't a fun subject of discussion.

Making a game in a franchise for the first time in over twenty years is milking?
They should make new ip's instead of making sequels, but for the sake of this thread I would have to say duck hunt since it is the only game on that list I have actually played, and I would be interested in seeing how they would make that game today. Plus I could put my zapper to use.
i dont remember than name of the game, but I think it was made by Nintendo... You had to drive a dump truck and drift into buildings to knock them down so that a truck with a nuke on it could get to a safe zone and detonate. I played the hell out of that game but cant remember the name for the life of me. Wish it was on virtual console. Also: Waverace. I loved Waverace.

The game you're thinking of is Blast Corps. It was developed by Rare for Nintendo, but I'm not sure who has the copyright to it at this point.

L. None.
I voted for StarTropics because it was at least weird and memorable, but I honestly think yours is the right answer.
I mean, you could revive any of the properties in this poll, but you might as well just make up a new series. These series all have just about zero brand recognition, and the actual gameplay in all of them is so dated that you'd have to reinvent the game entirely anyways.

No, but all Nintendo does is rely on nostalgia to remake a bunch of their old games. Would be nice to see them try to make something new rather then just dust off some old series and make that their new thing to milk into the ground for a few years. I'm sure they have a ton of creative people over there, and I would just like to see them come up with something from the ground up rather then just make more of what they already have.

I've been saying this for a while. Nintendo should try their hands at survival horror...
I'm kidding. Sort of. Anyway, I'd like to see Nintendo make a full-blown RPG. Not Zelda. An RPG.

Sorry, but what does BG&E mean?
