Of course the thing I care most about is the gameplay its just that this of all kind of things is crazy. Kinda like if Nintendo just up and made a game ( Dont count Super Smash Bros. Brawl) that Link and Wind Waker Link Teamed up. Despite them being 2 different people separated by 200 years. Then again Sega never really worried about Sonic story lines anyway.

old and new sonic could mean awesome time travel gameplay sonic CD style.  in the future your XTREME sonic and in the past your retro sonic.   

but whatever it is I am sure whatever promises and potential this title shows sega will fuck it up somehow.

I'm not a big Sonic fan, and I've kinda lost faith in Sonic as a franchise altogether, but HOLY HELL I want that.  The animation on Retro Sonic is so much better and the design is just overall a step above everything about the current Sonic.

Bad shit happened in the future. Old Sonic ran around the world too fast causing him to go back in time and meet younger Sonic. Old Sonic must now warn Young Sonic of the perils of the future. Also, chaos emeralds.
