StarCraft II Officially Delayed To 2010

I'm shocked... SHOCKED!!!! 
 
When is Starcraft II coming out? 
NEVER! 
 
It will be a miracle if this comes out in 2010. We'll Starcraft II is something I'm not that excited about if at all. If Blizzard makes a RTS then I want it to be Warcraft IV. I have always liked the Warcraft games more then Starcraft, except for World of Warcraft ofcourse since its a sinfull excistance.  

I feel as though Modern Warfare 2 and Guitar Hero 5 should be the ones afraid of Starcraft 2!  actually, there's significantly less competition for them considering it's a sci-fi RTS, a completely different genre/game type/audience than mw2 and gh5... not to mention different consoles.  Man! I thought that if anyone could stand up to the "Fall/Winter '09 Titans" it would be Blizzard. Their games are so BOSS.

Oh god dammit! Again? What's next, Diablo III delayed to 2011 or 2012? This is Bullshit!

Correct me if i did not understand it but they did not say Starcraft II is not ready...they said that the new Battlenet experience is not ready that's why they can't release Starcraft II this year...well i hope that they do not have in mind again the pay to play service but who knows...Seeing the last DLC for Fallout 3 i believe that making money is more of an issue nowadays even by releasing crappy games.I know Blizzard is not such a company and i hope it stays that way..i will have to wait much longer for Diablo III i assume ...

Yeah... of course it's the multiplayer holding up the single player. Great for those of us who only care about the single player.

Whatever, i got plenty of games to play and plenty of time to wait. No problem at all.

With all these release pushes that I'm assuming are majorly based on marketing, do you think that there will be more push backs based upon all these push backs? And by that, I mean, do you think that Starcraft 2 will be pushed back again because of how many games are being released in 2010 (and by that, I mean by months/Qs, not years)?

I really hope this is for making the game better and not cause game developers are in a secret cabal that has determined the end of the world to be this year and are pushing back games to maximize the sorrow and gnashing of teeth we as a people are about to embark upon.
 
Again, I am hoping for the former.

I'm in South Korea right now and I woke up after hearing a strange and loud rumbling noise. I later learned that this was the entire country moaning in despair.

Expected

This was to be expected.  But the bummer for me is Diablo 3 is pushed into 2011...if they're following their 'one major release per year' strategy.

I knew better than to listen to even a "release window" for a Blizzard game.  No one should be surprised.

I don't know whether Blizzard publicizes their "release dates" on purpose, or whether they do it to generate fake hype. For some reason, I doubt the latter; they already have a huge following, so it's not like they need more publicity. 
 
By now, Blizzard makes release dates look like a joke. I understand delays such as in Borderlands' case where the whole graphics system was revamped, but release dates should be taken a bit more seriously.

We give Valve and Blizzard so much shit for delays, but those two studios release some of the best games for PCs.

You know what would be rad now that this is officially delayed... If they went ahead and put the OTHER TWO CAMPAIGNS IN THIS ONE!!!  Of course, that would mean I'd be stuck playing Brood War until the year 21xx, so maybe that's not a good idea.

So does this mean Diablo 3 will be in 2011?   Add another name to the 2009 holiday chopping block.  Hmm, this Chistmas is starting to look kind of thin.

I played SC obsessively on release up until and a little past broodwar. Reinstalled the other day to have a look-see; That game is mad old and outdated mechanically. The pathing in particular is a god damn mess, and the 10-unit selection cap is flat out stupid; I'll be honest and say that having played WC3, Dawn of war, CoH and DoW2, obviously, people still playing Starcraft claiming it the superior game are in a retarded time warp. The game has massive, massive issues. The whole "actions per minute" thing in particular is hilarious, considering how many actions per second are needed to wrangle your idiot units wandering off into space.
 
That said, the more i played it the more an update made sense. Fix the pathing, fix the fucked up UI, fix the close angle, emphasize the interesting things, keep the 3 armies and nail that perfect balance. I'm still very partial to the newschool RTS, specifically Dawn of war 2 which i'm sort of caught up on right now, what with the cover and squad units etc, but i can definitely make room for some un-retarded starcraft play. When that game came out it blew me away. It won't do the same again, but it's a worthy thing to do for such a keen game.
