The new game rush is coming, which games are you picking up?

The end of the year AAA video game releases are almost upon us (with Madden once again kicking off the charge, no offense to Sleeping Dogs and Transformers). Which post Madden games are you planning on buying this year?

I am for sure going to be picking up:

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal

And perhaps also Halo 4, Dance Central 3, Skylanders Giants and Call of Duty Vita. That is unless the WiiU really does come out this year, in which case New Super Mario Bros. U, ZombiU, Scribblenauts Unlimited andLEGO City: Undercoverall become maybes as well. Hopefully retailers are generous with their discounts and promotions this holiday.

From those games you've listed, I would say RE6 and Halo 4. Maybe Fufa 13 but all the Fifa games are the same, aren't they? Also if Pikmin 3 is released with the WiiU then that one as well.

I'm getting Persona 4 Golden, though it's unlikely I'll get to play it this year.

Transformers will likely be the only one I get this year.

I'll be picking up Borderlands 2 and XCom for myself. That's gotta be it for new purchases for me, at least until Black Friday comes.

I'm getting for sure Borderlands 2 and ACIII for sure. I'm also getting Persona 4 Golden and ACIII Liberation because I need games for my Vita. There's a lot of games I'm debating on getting but I have no idea at this point in time.

i already picked up Darksiders 2 (awesome game btw).

this fall, i plan on picking up AC3 for sure, and probably Halo 4. also looking forward to the new gears game, cus well i god damn love gears. looking forward to playing the campaign co-op with my brother like we've done with all the others. though i think gears got pushed back to march or something.

sucks theres no big RPGs coming out, im kinda hungry for a new big RPG.

I for sure plan on picking up NHL 13 and Need For Speed: Most Wanted. However, I will be waiting on price drops for Resident Evil 6 and potentially XCOM.

I'll absolutely play Tekken Tag 2, Halo 4, Need for Speed, and ZOE HD. But I always end up getting a bunch more stuff despite my giant backlog. Next year's when all my most anticipated games come out, starting with DMC and MGS Rising.

There are exactly two games I am willing to buy at full price this year... the problem being that the come out on the same day and I don't really feel like blowing $120 when I know that they'll both be 33% off or whatever once the steam sale comes around. Thus I ask.... Dishonored or XCOM?

I rarely get games on day one but Far Cry 3 is looking really tempting.

Also if the Wii U releases this holiday season I might pick it up with Zombi U, LEGO city undercover and Rayman legends.

@ArbitraryWater: XCOM will have more replay value and you can get in on the multiplayer matches early, so maybe buy that first.

Dishonored is a single player only game so you can still enjoy it a few weeks after release. Also it's a new IP and it's not a game with a lot of marketing outside gaming sites, so I expect the price to drop significantly in the weeks after release.

Already bought everything that I'm going to buy this year: Darksiders II and Borderlands 2. Maybe Torchlight 2. I want Dishonored, Need for Speed, and Assassin's Creed but probably not getting them.

The only definite for me at the moment is Borderlands 2. I'll wait to hear what reception Need for Speed: Most Wanted gets after its release.

Nope, you read that right, I've only played the original Xbox version of Doom 3 and thought it was awesome. I'd like to see the full, unadulterated game.

The answer that will sadly and inevitably be true: Halo4 and Borderlands

Dishonored and Hitman: Absolution are the two which I'll definitely be getting. If XCOM: Enemy Unknown is good on consoles (my current PC is ancient) I'll pick that up, too. If not, I'll wait until I upgrade my PC in the new year. Oh, and I'll be looking for a boxed copy of Journey, if those are still kicking around.

I'll probably keep and eye on ACIII and Far Cry 3 (there are usually crazy sales on AC games during the holidays), but they are not high priority unless they get a really, really good critical reception. If the Zone of the Enders HD collection isn't totally abortive, I might check that out, too.

And I'll rent or borrow CoD for the campaign, like I always do, but I never buy it.

I doubt I buy any more retail games this year. I rent most stuff. The next game I'm contemplating buying is Ni no Kuni.

Honestly, I'm not crazy excited about the rest of the year at this point. With Prey 2 potentially in shambles, Grand Theft Auto V nowhere to be found, and Bioshock Infinite delayed, my hype for this holiday is pretty subdued at this point.

I'm looking forward to Assassin's Creed III, Dishonored, and WoW: Mists of Pandaria, but that's about it. Taking a wait and see approach with Far Cary 3 and Halo 4. Will probably pick up FC 3 in a Steam sale.
