Your Favourite Game Intro

I thought it would be nice to know which Game Intro Sequence is the one that impacted you the most. the one that made you instantly fall for the game :D

one of my favourites for some reason is Resident Evil: Code Veronica

Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2... blew my mind then, still such a beautiful intro.

Manhunt.

It's easy to say Call Of Duty 4, but I'm going to say Dead Space.  That intro is visually stunning and drags you right into this beautiful atmosphere right away.  I still have a massive boner for that game.

Banjo-Kazooie. Easily.

World of Warcraft and FFXI come to mind.  Since those games have such epic opening screens.  But I suppose you mean "real" games.

Metal Gear Solid with the "Do do do" song over the Konami logo, always pulls me in.  The way the game jumps right into the story.

Final Fantasy X...  it blew me away back then

Final Fantasy VIII has an intro that is so obscenely epic that it's impossible to understand what the hell is going on when you first watch it.

More recently, Bioshock gets my praise as well as The Darkness, Call of Duty 4, and Mass Effect.

i have to admit the intro sequence you play through in Bioshock is actually extremely good

My vote goes to bioshock.

Now, do you mean the little movie that plays before you hit "Start" or do you mean the first few minutes of the game?  Anyway, besides the ones previously mentioned above, I got hooked on the cartoon opening of the PS2 game SkyGunner [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZerrPE-N-MU].  The game is pretty good as well, although not ground breaking.

But in recent memory, the opening to Devil May Cry 4 impressed me the most.  After I saw it, I went "Wow!".

i quite liked the Killzone 2 intro, but one of best is street fighter IV, cheesy music and all....

Tekken 2 yes please.

I'd have to go with MGS2 and Persona 4. MGS2's lets the player know right off the bat that it's going to be one hell of a game, and Persona 4's is mad stylish.

All the MGS games have great opening cutscenes.

The original Soul Blade was pretty amazing, and stands out in my mind.  Nostalgia might be kicking in a bit, but I'd also say that Final Fantasy VII's intro was really good too.

I did like the opening of GTA 4 a lot but I also loved the opening for FF Vlll 

• Metal Gear Solid Intro Movie
• Occarina of Time Start Screen (I've turned my N64 on just to watch that intro at times)
• Wind Waker Start Screen (music puts me in the mood for that game every time)
• Viewtiful Joe Intro (just a whole bunch of action pose stills with commanding voice over but I like it)
• Street Fighter 4....just kidding...maybe.
  

I really liked the opening for devil may cry 3

Suikoden 2 - PSX

I really loved the european Gran Turismo A-Spec intro.

Panzer Dragoon Saga's intro was aaaaaaawesome.
And Soul Blade's.
And A Link to the Past's.
And Panzer Dragoon Zwei's.

And of course, Half-Life's playable intro sequence.

Cool topic, nice to reminisce about things like this. =)

Story in games doesnt really mean alot to me, its how the story is told that impresses me. The world needs to tell the story, take for example Ico, or Bioshock. The world you are playing in speaks volumes. The same can be said with Left 4 Dead and most valve games. You find the story in the world around you.

Oblivion, hands down.

Many of the ones in here would be on my list. Cool to see a mention to Chrono Cross, that brings back memories.

This generation these in particular came to mind:

Conflict: Desert Storm 2 all the way baby

It completely slipped my mind, but my absolute favorite is the introduction to Full Throttle.  Man, that was badass.

Oblivions intro does really work well for being such a simple one.

Killzone 1.

I think the best intro might be Half-Life or Half-Life 2 in my eyes. I might have to do a little more of reminiscing, but when I think of best intro, the Half-Life series was the first thing that popped in my head.

For the music alone:

These ones, from the days when I was obsessed with JRPGs on the original PS, also have awesome music. The Suikoden one isn't visually interesting, but that song makes me all nostalgic.

Mass Effect has an awesome intro. But I might have to go with Bioshock, it was the intro that made me buy the game. I didn't enjoy the rest of the game as much.

LOZ TP, MGS4, and Shadow of the Colossus to name a few...
