I want to see how you guys did in High School. I'm not doing too well. My academics lean more towards bad, but I'd say I'm between good and bad. It's just that even if I put the same amount of time and effort in a work than someone else, my work always comes out way worst than the other person's.
How did/are you do/doing in High School?
I'll say good. The only class I have trouble with is math. I try, but I don't get it. All my other classes are good though.
I graduated in the top 10% of my class even though I slacked off a lot during my senior year. I took a lot of A.P. classes that year and schmoozed the teachers a fair amount since I had known then from the previous years where I worked hard. College was definitely more difficult, largely due to time constraints and scheduling. Apply yourself and it can be done. Also, focus on what you are doing, not what someone else is up to. That way you won't be discouraged before you even begin.
I dropped out of school a few months into ninth grade and a year later, I was an engineer for Netscape Communications and then moved on to the company that bought Netscape out in 1998. By the time anyone I had been in school with were preparing for college, I was pulling six figures in a career I love -- and have been enjoying for the past decade, plus.
School is important and has great value for people who need the guidance and structure and to be told when and what and how to learn, but it's also not for everyone. It can hinder your passions and impede your plans if you are a driven, determined, autodidact.
Also, don't freak out if you don't take high school seriously or do poorly in it. I'll let you in on a little secret that most adults won't tell you -- NOBODY CARES HOW YOU DID IN HIGHSCHOOL. Seriously. In my entire career, nobody has ever once asked me what highschool I went to or what I did there or what my grades were or what I studied. It may impact your ability to jump directly from school into college on a scholarship, but that's about it. Once you're out of highschool, nobody really cares or will ever ask you if you got a 4.0 or what percentile you placed in your SATs. I scored a 1490 in my prep SATs (just before dropping out) and the only person who has ever given a fuck is me. In the larger scope of things -- including future employers -- its' not relevant.
Your only goal in highschool is to get through it without letting anyone beat you down or demoralize you. Then you can get out of school and start making decisions that actually *do* affect your life. Don't let adults try to scare you with the bullshit.
Didn't go to high school, or grammar school. Home-schooled through all that.... almost done with M.S. ChemEng @ UCBerkeley at the moment
High school was a gigantic blemish on my life for me. That was largely due to my own laziness and my inability to recognize it for what it is though. Hoping college goes more smoothly.

Considering I didn't do pretty much as homework and slack off a lot in general, I did pretty well. I got a lot of B's and a few A's and C's, so average I guess. High school was definitely about the non-academic things for me.
Got a 91 average last year. I'm in senior year now and it'll probably be a little lower than that. I already have my most important mark for university entrance (a 90 in gr. 12 English) so I'm doing well academically. But high school is mega easy and not very stimulating. I'm looking forward to university.
I had something like a 2.2 gpa. High School was easy and I managed to get basically all A's on my tests. The one thing that always brought my grade down to a C was that I never wanted to do a project for any of my classes and well I didn't. If I had actually done the projects I would have had a B average. Then in college I got all A's and B's with one or two C's, different mind set in college.
I did good in ye olde high school.
Not sure what their American equivalents are, but in Scotland I left my senior years with 9 Higher Qualifications (6 As, 3 Bs) and 1 Advanced Higher Qualification at A -- Advanced Highers are seen by some Universities as the equivalent of First Year work in a subject, so some people with Advanced Highers can skip to the second year of a course straight from school
High school was ok I guess......I graduated, but didn't spend hardly any time at school. I was mostly at my friends playing video games and drinking and smoking cigs.
I'm currently in my Junior year of High School. Hehe, I certainly hope I'm doing good, it hasn't even been a week since I have came back to school. It's been pretty good so far, just need to find out my class rank. As long as it is an improvement over my rank from being a Freshmen (i.e. 48 / 365 or so).
