It's safe, just beware some folks still think you are a fake. I don't care either way as long as you have something interesting to contribute. Keep being engaging and folks will soon forget all the ruckus.
Who really cares you can do whatever the hell you want nobody's forcing you to read the offensive comments and nobody is asking you to act in a way which makes it so you are receiving offensive comments life go's on no big deal if you are unable to ignore them however you can make the decision to leave or not.

ValkyrieGoddess left too and she's been here day one. The forums have changed so much since I started working and the influx of new users...I dunno how Hamz, MB, and CitizenKane are dealing with it. Most of these new people were harassing and annoying as fuck so a lot of users have been leaving.
Just remember you're on a website mostly full of pubescent males. If you go about flaunting yourself like you did before, you're going to get responses like you did before. But if you just post on here about video games & stuff, you'll be fine. Most people have a short attention span and have already forgotten about your previous blog.
Of course the internet can throw just about anything at you but assuming things have died down on your end (PMs etc.) it seems that you should be able to just be a fairly normal member of the Giant Bomb community now.
