I find it funny how the world goes crazy and looses its shit everytime a small amount of people die from a random disease. Nothin' will happen. Some people will get it and if their country is respectable they'll be in hospital for a week or two then be out and within 2 months everyone will forget about it.

I saw some guy from the CDC on CNN this morning and he said every confirmed case in the USA has been treated and they're fine. People in Mexico are having a little harder time.

It is starting to look a little worrying as things stand at the moment. The media do have a history of exaggerating though. If this thing blows up though, there's no fucking way I'm getting on a train and going to university -- both are the worst possible places to catch things.

After reading a lot of these comments im drawn to the conclusion that nobody gives a shit about these things anymore even though it's blaintantly obvious that it's more serious. I remember that when bird flu was all the rage it was top headlines for a week that A SWAN HAD DIED!!!!!!! but a lot of people have already died due to this flu which is far more contagiuos than bird flu. Bla Bla Bla.

I have to say though, from what I'm hearing certainly in the UK, the world has gone on alert pretty fast and they seem to be doing everything possible to crack down on it as quickly as they can. Which is reassuring to say the least.

You would think the world would learn how to handle things better from the last wide spread disease.

Washing your hands with soap and hot water probably helps.

Well that was my only precaution so I guess I'm screwed now."

My mother is a micro-biologist and she has told me that this "epidemic" will be negligible to any country with a strong health care system which, like it or not, is the U.S.. Also, if you have a strong immune system with exercise and a good diet, this seriously won't be a problem. Death shouldn't be a big worry in the states.

I said earlier, that i was super worried about Bird Flu way back...but it did fuck all really, but since people can catch this, my worry is somewhat more rational...but it's still blown out of proportion.
