What do you do when the power goes out?

Ok so I was sitting at my comp playing some games when suddenly the power went out! Well I'll be a monkey's uncle if I had the darnest idea of what to do. So yea I lit a couple of candles and decided to do a little workout session until the power came back. Anything you guys do like meditate, sleep, go outside, etc? Evil thunderstorms..

I turn my generator on.

I like the dark so it's all good.

I usually play a handheld and listen to the radio.

Play a handheld 

Fap, Read, Walk Dogs/general dog keeping duties, or fap.

I'll usually read or play a handheld. The power around here usually doesn't go out for too long anyways so it's not a problem.

Go outside, play a handheld or listen to my ipod, or a board game.

DS, read or jigsaw puzzle by candle or flashlight

I'm normally asleep when the power goes out in my house. Other than that, nothing.

I dig out my DS, strangly thats the only time it gets used.

either that or go to a party were there is electricity.

I heard that by the time the 1980's roll around, some duders would invent a thingy called an uninterruptible power supply. 

Then, by the 1990's they'd be available but really expensive.  Then by the year 2000 or so, they'd be relatively available to everyone for like even as low as $99 for an "ok" one, and can even be found at places like Best Buy or NewEgg. 

Too bad we can't time travel into the future to enjoy such devices as these :(

I trip out... WTF. No internet, no doppler radar. Candles... Where the hell are the candles? Wait...

I go outside. 

I turn down the brightness on my monitor and keep playing. The UPS I have will keep my system powered for 20 minutes during an outage. :D

Read a book, or listen to my iPod, or go to sleep, or leave the house.

I say "What the fuck happened to the power?" and then just sit in the dark, getting madder and madder.

I either read, sit outside, take out a portable system, or sleep, depending on how much light is out.

I sit, frozen in place and unwilling to acknowledge what has just happened, and wait for the electricity to come back.

Various and Sundry. DS or PSP, read by candle/torch light, sleep. It just depends.

Listen to music or read.

I'm rarely without power and when I am it's only for at max an hour. On those rare occasions that I'm without power I'll play my DS or PSP or I'll take a drive.

I go outside and enjoy watching how it looks without lights on in the houses. After a while I head back in to enjoy the lack of lights for a while. It's neat, but only for a while.

Just read a book my flashlight or candle light mostly.

fap. then fap some more.

I cry.

I watch tv.  Laptop + tv tuner + cable = godly during a power outage.

I go to bed - with a woman.  

This happened to me and my roommate last year, and when it happened we were dumbfounded lol. I seriously was just sitting there going... so wtf should we do? It was like 9 or 10 pm. We ended up watching some animes on my laptop until the battery ran out, luckily the power came back on. This shows me I need to prepare better for these kinds of situation, yet I've done nothing.

Cower in fear.

If it's early, I go to the pub. If it's late I go to bed.

Grab a flashlight, light some candles, wrap up in a blanket, get couple of snacks, and play DS. :D

I can't tell when the power goes out.

I fucking panic and go into a sweat, I crawl into a small ball and rock underneath my desk for a few hours until my crying makes me fall asleep from exhaustion.

but no really, usually just go read. or chores or some crap.

Curl up into a ball in the corner of the room and sing nursery rhymes to myself while rocking back n' forth in attempts to contain my sanity.

Load my shotgun and await the zombie apocalypse to come a-knockin'. "Show's over, Shakespeare!"
