i don't mind the food, but i have a little fear of airtravel. i know its safer than driving in a car, but still.
What do you think about airplane travel?
Technically, I've only been on an airplane for one trip (two planes going to Florida, two back), and honestly, I really like it. I've always imagined kicking back and relaxing for a very, very long trip, or doing something on a laptop whilst in the air. I obviously haven't flied much, because I never experienced the screaming kid(s), the 'awesome' delays, and other such fun stuff during airport traveling.
For 8+ hour long plane flights, and not having enough money for the upper classes, airplane travel sucks. Unless you go on one of te good airlines, like Singapore Airlines and Virgin America, who actually give a crap about their consumers. However, most of the airlines give you tiny tv's, suckish food, and no personal TV's. =(
Also, I am slightly afraid of cross-ocean traveling even though I almost do it every summer.
I enjoy it. I havn't been on a airplane long enough for them to serve food so I don't know if its good or not. It gives me time to read and stuff so I like it.
The only things about airplane flights that I detest is the either terrible food/paid food services and being stuck next to someone in my way towards the aisle for my inevitable pee break. Nothing more irritating on a plane than a disgusted look simply because I need to get up and pee.
I love it. I love everything about it. Travel is one of my favorite things in life. So far, I've visited a mere 8 countries, but have flown more miles than I care to count. Flying to Florida this year, as well, followed by a 3 day cruse to Mexico and Grand Cayman... I love the air, and I love the ocean.
I love travelling on aeroplanes, I have no idea why. The fact that you're flying to another country for a holiday half the time is also very exciting. I even love airports for the same reason. It's something I only do at most once a year, so it's a special event when it happens.
" Don't mind it. My only problem is I always fly first class. "...I hate you.
I can't remember the last time I flew in an airplane that was big enough that I could even stand up straight in. Liek the ones where you're lucky if the gangway even goes out to it, much less that you have to duck down and step up to get in side (I have had to walk on the tarmac to and from a plane in Newark). Last week i was graced with a broken recline button, an "are we there yet" 5 year old, and dozed off and missed the peanuts. And a 3 hour delay in Atlanta going in and out. And despite knowing that duct tape is the shit and all, it still terrifies me to see it outside the window.
I fly A LOT- at times, every other week on business.
It gets old quick. I usually try to sleep. Plane flights on cramped express jets aren't fun at all- although even the larger planes these days are fucking awful. Mediocre food (if at all), tiny seats, etc.
I'm a pretty tall guy, so longer plane flights get to be unbearable unless I can grab the emergency row seat (much more leg room).
Doesn't bother me... give me a window seat and my PSP with MGS: Portable Ops and I don't make a noise all trip
it's alright. i like having a window seat and looking out to see the view. the view is really cool to see. i hate the flights that are really long. i'm pretty much squished. the food sucks, even the first class food sucks. one time when i went europe the airline didn't make enough food for the lower class so they gave us all steak. the steak tasted like cafeteria food.
" Hate it, always have, always will. Food sucks, the fact that little kids run up and down the plane like crazy and scream when you are trying to sleep.Where are you flying to? & what airline lets kids run around the plane?Which is probably why I shouldn't fly so much."
I fly frequently throughout the year & have never had that kind of problem, lmao!
I love air travel, especially overseas flights. Sure, the meals aren't cordon bleu, but I've never actually had a meal that I thought was inedible. But I just love looking out a plane window while drinking chilled tomato juice and listening to some matching chilled tunes. Plus on some OS flights you get movies-on-demand, and in the unlikely event there's nothing interesting to watch I've always got my DS.
" As long as a Middle Eastern man isn't on the plane, I have no problems. "I almost spit my Dr. Pepper all of the screen when i read this...
You couldn't pay me to get on a plane. I have this thing with heights and well i just don't like airplanes....
I don't really have a problem with it, though the flights I'm on/have been on are generally pretty short. Usually within the 2 or 2 and a half hour range.
" As long as a Middle Eastern man isn't on the plane, I have no problems. "Good job being blatantly racist.
" @KaosAngel said:You're telling me if you saw a Middle Eastern man wearing a burka and saying stuff in Arabic really loud and had a box cutter on the plane, you wouldn't be worried?" As long as a Middle Eastern man isn't on the plane, I have no problems. "Good job being blatantly racist. "
Why do so many people complain about the food? It's not enough that you are being transported through the air hundreds of miles every hour, but you want home cooked meals as well? I've only flown twice when I was younger, and at that time I was able to enter the cockpit and have a go at the controls, when I returned to my seat everyone was a little worried, wondering what happened lol.
I get air sickness when on long flights. On the 15 hour flight to China I can't count how many times I had to vomit. You can say I literally felt like I could die. Needless to say, I will be making an international flight in a couple of months... Still hate to fly, though.
I've been afraid of it ever since 9/11. I know how small the chances are of something like that ever happening again, but still.
" I've been afraid of it ever since 9/11. I know how small the chances are of something like that ever happening again, but still. "Same here. I report any Middle Eastern person to Home Land security every time they move in. I often ask the new neighbors questions, and record it. I use that to make sure they are legit.
They get me somewhere in 2 hours that would take me 2 days in a car (accounting for rest stops, etc.), so I'm all for them.
Never been scared of going up in them, and I absolutely love looking at the tops of clouds (where else can you do that?).
Edit: Also, I do have a fear of heights, but it never goes off in a plane. Tops of tall buildings are the worst, especially when you can feel the entire structure swaying in the wind. Damn that's disconcerting.

" @KaosAngel said:Well it's common knowledge that Middle Eastern people caused 9/11 (RIP Americans). It's only fair that they get stricter rules. It's National security, unless you want another terrorist attack." @JeffGoldblum said:you didn't really specify all of that in your last post pal. before it was just racist. and i dont think the anything but the sharp blade is relevant. if i see a man whip out a blade, i'm gunna kick his ass dude. " @iam3green: First class food is actually pretty good. "I'm sure it is, and you only need to pay 4 times the price of coach to get it. ;)
