Pokemon, it had a lot more depth.
Which show was more awesome?
"Thankfully I'm old enough to have missed both of those shows. You are a good man,Ninja Turtles is awesome.Ninja Turtles all the way. And the original Ninja Turtles, now those newer emo ones."
Pokemon was fantastic. Even to this day I still watch a few episodes while it's on. The best ones were with Lt. Surge. 'YER GEHT DER DUNDER BERGE!'
"Digimon was the better show, if you're comparing seriously. Pokemon was more popular for obvious reasons."I agree. I think Pokemon was the better of the two products, but the Digimon show was a bit less hokey.
I would say Pokemon because I was way into it when it was popular among the mainstream and I had no Idea that 4Kids manages to brutalize every single anime they touch. (Of course, Pokemon isn't a very good show even when uncut) Plus Digimon was just a cheap imitation with a way less cool theme song.
In the end a bunch of people who are also members of Anime Vice will decend upon this thread and eat us alive like a pack of lions.
Both of them were terrible, though admittedly I didn't see that many Digimon episodes. :/
EDIT:
Just for emphasis, Pokemon came out when I was ten (or was it eleven?), and I thought it was one of the corniest shows I'd ever seen. When I was ten. I was a big Pokemon (red) fan so I watched it for awhile, but for fucks sake.
neither. i could never get into fantasy type anime. actually the only anime i have ver liked and still like is gundam
Bah! Married With Children rules them all.
<troll>BEYBLADE. NE1 WHO SEZ OTHER WISE IS WRONNG</troll>
Really though, if anyone says Digimon instead of Pokemon they were probably very young when both came out, and if you can't say that Pokemon appeals to you in the slightest you take yourself far too seriously or you are a teenager caught in that late-adolescent trap where nothing remotely childlike is cool and you're listening to nu-metal and think smoking cigarettes is awesome because you're not addicted to and spending upwards of $40 a week on them yet.
The 1st two seasons of Digimon were better. As for Pokemon, after they quit doing the "poke-rap", the show went down hill.
"<troll>BEYBLADE. NE1 WHO SEZ OTHER WISE IS WRONNG</troll>Huh? Digimon was inarguably the better TV show. It had an actual continuous plotline and (for a cheesy toy-spawned anime) had much better character development than Pokemon ever has. And I'm a huge Pokemon fan.

The first series of Digimon had a much better story, so I say Digimon.
Pokemon was on at the time of the craze for me. I was a kid and it was awesome, thats all I remember, I remember it was awesome to wake up in the morning, grab a bowl of cereal and watch my favorite show in the morning, and the movie? that was something else...
"Huh? Digimon was inarguably the better TV show. It had an actual continuous plotline and (for a cheesy toy-spawned anime) had much better character development than Pokemon ever has. And I'm a huge Pokemon fan."Digimon, the television show, yes, was better than Pokemon the television show as far as the writing went (you can actually sort of take Digimon semi-seriously, especially in later seasons when it turned into a sort-of Evangelion-lite, whereas Pokemon's appeal was strictly kitsch), but as far as the entire franchise goes? Bandai could've done so much more with Digimon then they did; Pokemon, as a franchise, took a lot more risks (see: Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Channel), took place in a far more developed and better designed world, and is infinetely more enjoyable.
I dunno, this thread is about which show was superior, not which franchise was more superior, so I will admit that Digimon, the television series, is better than Pokemon, the television series. Is the Digimon franchise better than the Pokemon franchise, though? Not really.
"Pokemon, I thought Digimon was a rip of version and it had less of a story then pokemon."If I remember correctly, Digimon was created before Pokémon.
If I remember correctly, Digimon was created before Pokémon."Pokemon was out in Japan before Digimon, but I think Digimon made it to the states first, albeit as sort of an Tamagotchi-for-boys sort of thing. I don't think they planned for it to be a franchise until Pokemon got huge.
