Fuckin' Oddjob!!! If you play as Oddjob you're a terrible person and I hope you skate into an AIDS tree.
Other than that, the game looks pretty good.... except for the split-screen. I forgot how chaotic that whole thing was.
GoldenEye 007
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Aug 23, 1997
A first-person shooter for the Nintendo 64 and a video game tie-in with the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye. It paved the way for a long line of shooter games based on the universe of the British secret agent and is often credited for helping establish first-person shooters for consoles.
Goldeneye 007 Remake Revealed, Exclusive For Wii
I'd definitely be interested in playing this, trying to go back to the N64 control scheme just doesn't work for me anymore
" why? "Precisely. I have one answer; they know the new Bond movies suck and making a game out of them will be lukewarm at best. But, if they milk peoples' nostalgia they will BANK.
Not sure that I have a reason to be excited for this. Activision is clearly using the license to cash in on nastalgia, if the game actually proves to be good then I'll be surprised.
I'm glad its a remake. If anyone was hoping for a new goldeneye game look no futher than Goldeneye 2. Which was okay but not what people wanted. To think that people Don't want a remake of this game is to only kid yourself.
It is kind of wierd about the whole daniel Craig, but I think it's copyright reasons involving James bond or the actors. Much like in the original game there were models for Sean Conory, Timothy Dalton and Roger Moore, but were not actually playable unless you used a gameshark to unlock them.
As for controlls, it could be okay, I mean to say it would have been better to put it on a traditional controller would be fine... same could be said for the Perfect Dark remake. Which has the option, just not the default. Besides, it's probably going to be a lot better than the N64, controlls. Honey Scheme FTW.
Ugh. Its a totally different era now. As a "new" game, even as a re-make this is ridiculous and way out of place.
This would have been fine as a downloadable classic game on the 360 or something (I realize that probably wouldn't happen being Nintendo and all, though it was Rare) but as a "new" game to get excited about during the Holiday's in 2010? Yeah, no thanks. Going a bit too far.
Hi guys, remember me? C'mon guys. I was a Goldeneye too. Guys?
IT'S SO WEIRD!
I mean, their remaking a video game based on a 13 year old movie and replacing the original starring actor with someone who wasn't at all involved with the film.
I don't get it.
Goldeneye was garbage and only for console noobs who did not have a Fucking PC to play Unreal or quake 2 or a real First person shooter on the PC.
God that game sucked hard the only thing worse was Turok.
MAking goldeneye suck more than it already did is tuff to do but it looks like they have i give them an award.
No pleasing some people I guess.
This will sell buckets.

Nastalgia is the exploitation of youthful memories in order to sell games that require little original IP development, yet cannot possibly live up to fan expectations enamored with the origin product.
Games list: Transformers (franchise), Final Fantasy VII Remake (rumored), N64 (platform).
As much as I would like a true Goldeneye remake, this is not what I want.
I have nothing against Daniel Craig, but randomly replacing Pierce Brosnan with him makes absolutely no sense. Also I don't want a re-imagining of the game, or whatever the shit this is, I want the same damn game, but with new fancy HD graphics.
Blah.
Can't see how this goes well. I did love the single player in the game - from what I recall it was one of the first games with multiple difficulties for each mission, alternate objectives, and a ton of unlocks, in addition to cool gameplay - but there's no way this can compete with modern shooters from the look of it.
And except for nostalgia, the multiplayer doesn't have anything going for it. I'll hole myself in the bathroom of the facility with some proximity mines once, but after that I'd much rather play Halo, MW2 or pretty much any other game.
Why does this need to exist? I just don't see a need for that game to be remade. Shooters have changed...if you want Goldeneye then hook up your n64
Daniel Craig in Goldeneye will just seem...weird. I don't know. Do we still get Sean Bean? Anyways, it will take a lot to make me care about this. I loved Goldeneye back in the day, but shooters have gotten way, WAY better since then.

wrong wrong wrong and wrong
" Sucks. Too bad that people still think this shit will hold up. Begging for a fucking Goldeneye game... it wasn't even that good at the time. It only set a standard that we've gone way past and beyond. Mindless drones filled with nostalgia. "Hey man, I played Goldeneye last weekend, and despite the gawd awful graphics, the game played pretty well. Sure, it's a pain in the ass to look up and down, but you hardly ever have to do that anyway.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is up yours, pal. GoldenEye is the bees knees.
So much time has passed, it'll be interesting to see how much the motion controls improve/ruin/impruine the experience.
I was playing games like Quake when Goldeneye came out. I understand why people love the game, but to me it was a FPS with horrible controls that got by because most of the audience didn't have anything to compare it to. In the last 10 years we've seen that FPS controls can be done well on consoles. Are they as good as they are on the PC? No, but they still work extremely well. Unfortunately, I have a feeling the controls for this new Goldeneye game will be like The Conduit's. Once again, Goldeneye will be a game with lackluster controls, but this time the audience will have a better frame of reference from Halo and Call of Duty. We'll see how it goes for them, but I'm not hopeful.
So I'm assuming this is running off of the Wii port of the CoD engine. yes? This looks similar to the Quantum of Solace game that Treyarch did.
Not shocked that they replaced Brosnan with Craig as they would have had to get the rights to use Brosnan and they already have a Craig model ready to go.
Saddest part though is that this is quite possibly the last time we'll see Craig as Bond unless MGM gets their shit together fast.
