    Character Overview

Han Solo was born and raised, at least in his very early childhood, on the planet Corellia. He was orphaned at a very young age, and even he is not sure who exactly his parents were. He did, however, discover he was related to the Sal-Solos, a rich Corellian family, including his cousin Thracken Sal-Solo. Han and Sal-Solo always had a tense relationship, and Han would come into conflict with Thracken several times during his life.

Han was found by a smuggler ship captain and put to work for a room and food aboard his ship. When the captain, Garris Shrike, discovered Han's natural piloting talent, he put him to work fixing and racing speeder bikes and swoops. By betting on the races that Solo rode in, Shrike was able to make small fortunes. He was, however, extremely abusive of Han, which late lead Han to rebel and abandon the smuggler's ship. While escaping, he was found by Shrike and attacked, he managed to elude Shrike and was aided by the ship's Wookiee cook, Dewlanna, who died in during the escape. As Han escaped, he vowed to someday repay Dewlanna by helping one of her people.

Han picked up as many pilot jobs as he could, one notable being captain of the Ylesian Dream, a cargo drone based out of Ylesia There he met Bria Tharen, and in the course of his work, discovered the slave camps of Ylesia, managed to accidentally kill a Hutt and fled to Coruscant with Bria. Bria left Han, as she was recovering from the mental abuse of the Ylesia camps and didn't want too hold him back. Han left Coruscant and joined the Imperial Academy at Cardia.

There he excelled as a brave and talented pilot, winning the prestigious Corellian Bloodstripes, the red tabs on his trousers he would continue to wear well after his service were first class stripes, the yellow ones were second class stripes. After the academy and as a freshly commissioned lieutenant, he was assigned to a construction detail on Coruscant. It was there where he attacked his superior officer who was about to shoot a Wookiee slave, the Wookiee was Chewbacca. For his insubordination and assault, Han was expelled from the military in a demeaning ceremony where all of his awards were ripped off. He was allowed too keep his Bloodstripes, as they were awarded by Corellia, not the Imperial Navy.

Chewie and Han quickly got into making smuggling runs for various organizations, including the Hutts and the Rebel Alliance in its beginning days. Han actually fell in love with one of the first leaders of the Rebel Alliance, Bria Tharen, who died during the mission to transmit the plans for the first Death Star to the Tantive IV, Princess Leia Organa's ship, though her and Han had each went their separate ways shortly before following getting swindled out of their earnings and the earnings of a group of other smugglers in a big run for the Rebels.

Han even went on to win the Millenium Falcon from the gambler and con-man, Lando Calrissian in a card tournament on Cloud City. He and Chewbacca went on to make many additions and modifications to the ship, making it one of the fastest, most powerful, and temperamental ships in existence.

Han later took a job from the Jedi Knight, Obi Wan Kenobi transporting him and a few other passengers, including Luke Skywalker, to the planet Alderaan during the events of A New Hope. While this seemed like it would be a simple transport, it quickly became complicated. Captured by the Death Star, Han used the Falcon's smuggling compartments too hide from a stormtrooper search party. While Ben Kenobi sabotaged the tractor beam generators holding the Falcon captive, Chewbacca, Han and Luke rescued princess Leia. They fled the Death Star as Obi Wan faced his former apprentice, Darth Vader, and was struck down by him. Arriving at the rebel base on Yavin 4, Han had every intention of taking his reward and returning to Tattooine to pay off Jabba. Something changed his mind though, and he returned just in time to save Luke's life, shooting down Darth Vader's wingman and sending Lord Vader spinning away, severally damaged. During his attack he uttered one of his most famous phrases, "You're all clear kid, now let's blow this thing and go home!". Back on Yavin 4, Han, Luke and Chewbacca received a heroes welcome and were awarded medals by the Alliance high command.

Han and Leia had a son, Ben Solo, who became the feared Kylo Ren. At the Starkiller Base, he died at the hands of his son.
