I was wondering if it was the same for everyone, in mine he was threatening me and then it appeared he was going to shoot me when someone else in my party shot him!
Mass Effect 2
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Jan 26, 2010
After a violent death by an unknown force and a timely reanimation by the human supremacist organization Cerberus, Commander Shepard must assemble a new squad in the seedier side of the galaxy for a suicide mission in the second installment of the "Mass Effect" trilogy.
How did Rex die for you if he did in mass effect 1?
" I beat his ass down for talking back to me about his people. Then while on the ground I shot that animal in the head and ended the burden he had on the rest of my crew. "You sicken me.
In one of the times I ended up just capping him square in the face. However, in every following run-through I made sure he lived. Shepherd.
Well he isn't dead in my main playthrough which is the one I'm bringing over to Mass Effect 2 but he died in one of my playthroughs
He was threatning me but I was refusing to shoot him because I didn't want him to die, so I tried reasoning with him but it didn't work and Ashley ended up shooting him to save me
So I've never actually killed Wrex
You can shoot wrex or ashely can. When i went though my renegade, i shot him.
Unless you had enough renegade or paragon points in your stats, then a new dialogue option would show, either red or blue to show if it was a paragon or renegade persuasion technique and you could prevent him from shooting
Anyone who shot that awesome dude Wrex and then saved that xenophobic skank Ashley in Mass Effect 1, doesn't deserve to play Mass Effect 2.
The honourable way to play ME1 is to listen intently to everything Wrex says and then help him out whenever he needs it and only talk to Ashley to tell her to STFU.
" That is the only way Wrex dies. "You can choose to shoot him yourself, in which case Shepard makes sure he's dead. Like he drops after the first blast, then Shep shoots the corpse like three more times to be sure. It's fucking brutal.
The best way to save Wrex is just deny his request to join your party originally, then pick him up after Virmire. He's none the wiser and you don't have to have that showdown with him :D
" As long as you have at least the ability to persuade or intimidate, you can easily guarantee he won't die. "Exactly. You can talk it down to the point where he lives. I always invest in the conversation stuff, so useful. Here it saved Wrex.

I wonder if there will be 3 seperate outcomes in ME2 for the 3 different ways you can resolve the Wrex situation. Brad mentioned on the bombcast that if Wrex lives he becomes the krogan king, and your reception on the krogan planet will be vastly different in ME2, but I wonder if that only happens if you get the 3rd outcome." In all reality they probably just break it down to whether or not you saved the cure, and option A/B will result in the same exact effects on your world, maybe with 1 or 2 throwaway lines to address that wrex eventually killed himself or disappeared because of what he let you do. But if they are going that deep in this game where actions in the previous game can permanently change the personalities of characters in ME2, that would be something.
" Dood its WREX for shame ....Sheperd. "That's ironic, because your character's name is spelled Shepard, not Sheperd.
Im still not there on my ruthless sheperd playthrough that i will take to me2, can i save him with intimidate?

" I dont think the cure is saved, being that you nuke the whole facility. Unless Wrex got it while I was off letting Kaiden Die. "
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the cure is destroyed, which is the whole reason why Wrex turns on you in the first place. A shame, because it would have made sense to rescue the cure before blowing up the facility. But I guess that would be too flowery an outcome for a game like this.
In my first playthrough I didn't get my speech high enough so Ashley killed him. Then I let Ashley die.....Bitch

" @Rayfield said:Yeah, that was my mistake. I hadn't played the game for a couple years, and for some reason I thought that you had a choice whether or not to save the cure, rather than just convincing wrex to go along with your or not.This." Laughed kinda crazily at work just now reading this. Coworkers now think I'm weird--good thing I didn't try to explain.
"@Milkman said:"Ashley shot him, that bitch. She's lucky she fucked me later or I would have dropped her ass right there. "Shepard was too quick to put his clothes back on IMO--seemed like he was grossed out by what happened in the bed. "
She was most likely spouting all her Nazi propaganda mid-coitus. 'Turians cause all the problems in the world' etc.
"I'll probably play it one more time all the way through before I go back to classes. When I first played it Wrex died, so I reloaded a save and had to repeat all of virmire until I leveled up and put enough points in charm/intimidate, to keep him alive. "
According to Game Banshee, if you did the Wrex Family Armor quest, you wouldnt've needed to grind out those levels ;]
