You say that know but jsut wait till you learn more about her. I am sure you will come back with a different opinion. Bioware does not do hard edgy for the sakes of it, they are creating a eep game and thinking she is going to be flat is well....we all have to see and wait.

@Andorski: I liked Ashley and kept her alive for most of my playthroughs. But yes, most people either hated her and killed her or only wanted to have sex with her.

You are a little late to the party, but otherwise I totally agree that Sub-Zero (I did it for the lulz) exemplifies everything bad about Bioware's characterization, at least on a surface level. I am considering just saying "fuck you" and not recruiting her at all, but that would mean I would miss out on points. So I won't recruit her on my second playthrough instead.

Did no one pay attention to Ashely in ME1?! By killing her you gave her what she wanted!  She wanted to be a space martyr cause her grandfather was the only human to surrender to aliens, ever! Keep her alive to suffer!

Yeah......I'm playing Solder (assault rifle for the win!) again  so I'm going to need a biotic.  She's tagging along.  Miranda looks like a tech/biotic specialists, so she might be the Kaiden of the group. If Zero can actually handle a gun nicely, she'd be invaluable.
 
To be honest, I'm more worried that she'll lose her shit and try to throw somebody out of a window. That's my job.

I winced so many times during the SZ trailer it's not even funny.

I enjoyed Idle Thumb's discussion about this from a while back on their podcast. They were just as baffled and disgusted by the original trailer for her as I was. It was pretty bad.

Both of the reviews that are out now cannot say enough about the characters of the game, they are apparently amazing. Including Subject Zero.

I haven't taken a liking to any of the new crew members yet. Grunt is kind of "meh" because he isn't the "Old, knowledgeable bad-ass" Wrex was. Thane looks okay. Miranda and the new human dude look "forgettable". Probably never going to use Sub. Zero unless there's the whole "Party member with you 75% of the game" achievement that gives you a buff. 
 
Totally forgot there was a new Asari. Heck, I'd just roll with me (Adept) and Tali if I could.
 
Guess it comes down to actually playing the damn game. But so far they don't really catch my attention.

To give the Bioware art department some props, I'm glad they made Zero a fully-tatted up bald headed chick. They could have really taken the easy way out and made her just a hot chick with purple hair and a nose piercing.

I'm gonna make good use of the new 'interrupt' feature on Subject Zero.

She seems like she should be a romance option for femshep, if you know what I mean. In that she riles me up in that same way that annoying bull dykes do.

I can't help but think that Sub-Zero is a result of EA's insistence for ME2 to be a "cooler" game than ME1.  I could be wrong, and hopefully Bioware has a plan and compelling back story for this character concept.  From the video it just seems like they are trying so hard to appeal to a new and different audience.  I understand that increasing your fan base is always beneficial, but I am just unsure about the execution here.

I don't really understand all the hate.  If you look at her back story she has basically been through hell and back.  If that happened to me I would have a chip on my shoulder too.  I'll wait to actually play the game first before prematurely judging the character.   Who knows she might be really cool.

I think it's just her visual style that turns people off rather then the personality. 
Also we're just not used to bald tattoo'd females.

I'm really interested in Subject Zero, because I really don't like her. From what I've seen at least. Her character has potential, so I'll give her a fair chance.
