So everyone knows about God of War 1 & 2 coming to Ps3.... Got me wondering.
 
What other PS2 greats would you want on Blu-Ray?
 
I want the the Jak & Daxter Trilogy !

Good idea. A Metal Gear Solid 3 for the PS3 would cause me to JIZZ IN MY PANTS. Sorry, had to do it. Another series that would be awesome would be the Sly Cooper series because those would look phenomenal in updated, 720/1080p graphics.

As long as they don't charge out the ass, this is a nice idea. I don't really care for the potentially updated visuals, but some of those old PS2 games have become hard to come by and a rerelease would open up a new audience to some of the many PS2 hits. I'd love to see Tekken Tag Tournament and Odin Sphere get the bump. 

FFX & X-2 with somewhat updated visuals like the GoW package would be swell.

The metal gear games are a no brainer. I wouldn't mind Devil May Cry 1 and 3 (Because 2 can fuck itself) either.

The obvious ones are the Metal Gear Solid series [the first could be lumped in as well] and the Devil May Cry series.
Kingdom Hearts 1 + 2 would be pretty cool to see as well.

I think this would be an OK solution to the lack of backwards compatibility but it's still not great.

The Ratchet and Clank series. 

Honestly, I'm very opposed to this idea.  Make new games and stop re-releasing old ones.  Especially games that are still easy to find and look relatively good for their respective platforms.  Just one man's opinion, though.

Killzone 1. It will finally be able to run at more than 15 fps.

It would be awesome to get the International versions of the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy games.

On one point, I would love to have the chance to replay some of these old games, in true HD, and with trophy support. 
 
On the other hand, I own both God of War 1 and 2. I also have a 60 gig, backward compatibility is not an issue with me. Unless there is something worthwhile for someone like me, and for those who still have PS2's and own both, to re-purchase it, the likelihood of me not even bothering to check it out is pretty high.

I know it's beating a dead horse, but it needs to be said. Isn't this odd that Sony is taking the time to port these games over, and even suggesting that this will be a commonality among their past library, instead of simply figuring a solution to PS2 backward compatibility. 
 
This is strange coming from the company, that time and again has reiterated the excuse that the "PS3 library strong enough", to not bother with even looking into a future BC option. I'm finding this recent news pretty hypocritical of them, trying to take great strides to bring older installments of their flagship franchise on the PS3. I thought we weren't even doing thinking of that. 
 
You know what PS2 greats would be great on PS3? All of them.
Even the terrible ones, the PS2 is still one of the most diverse and exclusive gaming libraries in all of console history. Imagine that as a selling point for your console. That would be awesome.

I hope that this is more than just a marketing ploy to increase interest in GOW3 (It is.). I hope some older titles get some true HD treatment, and more importantly, new content. 
 
This could be a great opportunity to drum up support for franchises that didn't get the attention (sales) the first time around. (See: NOT GOW.) I think that's why a lot of people are suggesting stuff from Team Ico.

I'm just glad people are being at least rational about these re-releases, unlike Nintendo's Play on Wii GameCube stuff which were SO EVIL!!!!!1

I wanted to say Virtua Fighter 4 Evo but there's no reason to with Virtua Fighter 5. I guess the Metal Gear games.

All 3 KH games would be awesome.

I have a 60gb ps3 and the backwards compatibility is the best feature of the ps3. I would love to see lots of games get this make over so that people who didn't play ps2 games can get some love. On the other hand, all ps3's need to be backwards compatible. Where is the ps2 emulation in the slim Sony?

i think front mission or ICO, Shadow of the colossus would be cool since the last guardian is going to coming to the ps3.

Seems like double dipping to me.

Wow I actually did not know that was coming out and I was even debating on picking up a $50 PS2 to replay those two games. 
 
But yeah I'd love to see all the old MGS games on a single Blu-Ray. A PS2 Final Fantasy collection would be cool as well. But none of this would be necessary had Sony not ripped us off and removed backwards compatibility completely.

 Others have already mentioned pretty much anything I'd want.

I'd like to see GTA vice city and san andreas with new physics and damage to cars then put on blu-ray, but I doubt that.

I'd like to play the Sly Cooper games remastered. I never played them, but I loved inFamous so much, so they must be great! I could just get them on the regular PS2 discs since I have backward compatibility in my PS3, but I'd like to see them remaster it and add trophies. That would be nice.

As i never did own a PS2 for longer than a month, i would love to se ICO and Shadow of the Colossus on the PS3. I have heard so many good things about those two games, and i would really like to experience them for my self.
