The game does what I wish more games did. From the way the hud sort of works as if it's what your character really sees, the artsyle, music, thought the story was pretty good, and was a total blast to play. Definitely one of my favorite games in the past few years.
This was the year I stopped watching trailers and just generally getting into the hype so games like Assassin/s Creed didn't disappoint me. But with games like Syndicate, Sleeping Dogs, Tokyo Jungle, Binary Domain, Pokemon Conquest, The Walking Dead, Spec Ops: The Line, Theatrhythm, Mark of the Ninja, Dust, Asura's Wrath, and SSX; this may have been one of my favorite years in gaming. And Mass Effect 3 (minus the ending controversy).
Great list! You reminded me about my 40 hours this year in Theatrhythm and I'm going through Binary Domain now. You also reminded me to finish up Resident Evil and Kid Icarus. I forgot I was halfway through both. Your top 10 is a success in my book.
Just my opinion but I think Uncharted 2 was the best video game ending I've ever seen.
On a side note, didn't the people who disliked the ending make a $80,000 donation to the Child's Play charity? I remember the people on the forum from that page were saying they didn't like the way game journalists portrayed ending haters so they tried to make as high of a charity number as possible to show that they were going to complain in at least a mature way.
