Games I Just Don't "Get"
Simple list, big games I just don't bloody understand why they are so popular.
Simple list, big games I just don't bloody understand why they are so popular.
Granted I'm not big on creating content but fundamentally trial and error gameplay is in no way appealing.
Specifically the multiplayer. It's an unbalanced, glitchy mess.
Granted I think the critics were with me on this one but it seems Scribblenauts is only great when your reasoning crosses over with the developers reasoning, when it doesn't it's a frustrating mess.
Run out, prone shoot. This is a game community so lacking in joy that they put down the graphic settings to gain every advantage they can. Baffling.
I just don't get it, I tried it and it was amazingly dull. I feel it's a social setting more than a game with no social group in there it holds no place for me.
Okay I did like this at the time but the people who claim to still love it now confuse me. Poor framerate, controls and hit boxes...it's a game that has aged BADLY.
What an emo fest, that faux gothic style purely done to market it to a certain audience.
Gee, this is fun...I'm getting raped by enemies on the first level.
See a pattern? Not a fan of the combo/action style of game like Gaiden, GoW, DMC. Repetitive and dull.
Gameplay is disliked but the style also grated, that very self aware humour at it's place in gaming is just aggravating.
If I wanted to play OOT I'd play OOT. This is a pale imitator delivered 5 years too late which only served to show that the Zelda formula was in need of change.
The stories are not good, the acting is not good, the music is not good and the gameplay is antiquated.
I'm not a fan of JRPG gameplay but Kingdom Hearts is so swamped in whimsy that I can't get on with it.
Similar to Kingdom Hearts just as I can't handle too much whimsy I equally can't play in a world full of unremitting bleakness for too long.
This is a bit unfair but I get motion sickness playing Borderlands.
Too repetitive and there's only so much fun you can have playing in an open world.
I'm not a huge fan of the Batman universe but it's not really that. The gameplay just isn't deep enough to keep me involved for too long.
This is a series I can't believe has persisted. The fact that it's now a joke that it's impossible to play because of it's reliance on it's retro style is pathetic and all it sits as is a game for people to play so they can tell themselves they are hardcore.
This is a game they could give stroke victims to slowly nurse them without doing anything arduous. It's a game for kids, but portrayed as one full of charm an adult could play.
Coma inducing.
There's a reason Metroid moved away from this formula. It's not fun to play the Castlevania style of games anymore, laborious exploration and unintuitive fighting.
I loved Red and Blue! Yellow...o...k... I guess. Gold and Silver...well it looks nicer and....heyyy you guys aren't just rehashing the same game with new Pokemon right?
That battle system has needed changed for years now with nothing. New pokemon does not = a new game, we need new gameplay and it's not coming is it.
It's not funny.
Without that it's nothing.
Drive for 5 seconds, crash. Drive for 5 seconds, crash.
Fun.
It's damn funny but gameplay is pretty generic platforming fare with maybe some nice settings but actual level design again very generic. Meh.
I have a girlfriend, don't need this.
It's fun for five minutes then I never touch these games. Worst is that I buy everyone in the hope it'll change.
Any wrestling games, clunky mess the lot of them.
Right...just a little to the left...*controller thrown through TV*
The margin of error is just so slight it's unplayable.
NOT. FUN. I could have a fit and succeed, how is that gaming?
That Wii Motion Plus is really put to great use, 1:1 motion control wil....oh wait no I'm just doing wanking motions again with the wiimote.
I've played a variety of Fire Emblem games, I've completed said games...I don't really understand why people go nuts. They aren't bad...just not great.
Hey, this single player is pretty good fun... I think I'll head online and try some games.
This is the best example of when a good game gets killed by being highly competitive.
It's not funny and has no idea what genre it should truly belong to.
Story meanders and gameplay has zero depth. Alright with friends, but co-op can make any game bearable.
This is a game that just got the whole superhuman in a city vibe wrong. At no point do you feel graceful or uber powerful and without that you are just a freak in a city.
This is one of those very average games Wii owners cling too in order to prove they have real games. It's just so utterly bland which is incredible given the style.
So weird, loving it...looks great, so weird.
Oh wait, they forgot to add a game to this great style.
Enemies spawn behind you and you have Malaria.
I'll pass.
OH DUDE! It's so RAD! We're LIKE being IRONIC about WHAT GTA does, look at how AWARE we are and FUNNY we ARE. Like LAWL.
GTA hasn't had this style for a while, and you now look like dicks Saints Row.
Character creation with a bad game tacked onto it.
I'm sorry, it seems you got a financial simulator into my space game.
Cheesy and not in a good way, cringe inducing stuff.
If I wanted a fighting game I'd take straight Street Fighter, why do I need Marvel and the rest of Capcom involved?
Japan. MECH SUITS ARE NOT FUN! They are slow and clunky. Thankyou.
Good fun but that save system ruined the game. I play a game at my own pace, I hate having when I can stop dictated to me.
Again, I just don't get it. Nothing really more to say other than that. Dogfighting should be great fun but over a game it just doesn't hold up.
This really bloody annoyed me. It's budget and cheap therefore cult classic? No, terrible looking and zero depth.
It's just too demanding. In the GC version I was eating weeds so I could afford food for my dog and playing my only record on a loop at night where I was too tired to do anything. If that were real life I'd have been found by the mad guy who walked through my farm having blown by head off.
Just...no.
See above.
Card games are. not. fun.
See above x 100.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 defined this genre, everything since is over complicating it.
I'm with South Park, it's better with insane Swedish women.
Although it was funny watching everyone buy it on XBLA before realizing that generally N64 games age badly.
Only marginally more fun than real fighting, so slow and technical...forgets why people play games.
It's so fucking stressful!
OH ITS SO QUIRKY AND JAPANESE.
Still confusing shit.
Log in. Nobody talks.
What a compelling online experience Sony.
I was a mega drive kid, and hated the Snes kids bleating on about this.
Now I'm older and still they go on!
Bleach anything can fuck right off.
Sorry but this was shit. A diluted GTA 2 with zero fun gameplay. Just port GTA 2, it'd do better than this.
Always hated the style of Tekken.
Can you tell that I'm not a fan of Japanese games?
It's just not fun. It's beautiful, it's in depth but fun...nah.
See above
People bitch about EA making you pay for demo's *points*.
God it's difficult, beyond difficult.
I hate American Football...but god damn at least play the real deal.
Stop defending this Nintendo fanboys, we know it's shit.
