Best: Sniping a helicopter pilot, then sniping him again when he tried the same trick once he respawned. (On the rush map where there is almost always a blackhawk available to the offense.)
Worst: Trying to get into close range to kill a recon, only to discover that he has a shotgun.
I did it first with a soldier then again as an infiltrator. I tried to go back recently and play through again on insanity with an engineer, but I got so frustrated that I gave up. I did not think it was that hard on my prior playthroughs, but I think my skills were at their pinnacle then.
I sniped a pilot twice in one game yesterday (against a Blackhawk) and both times a gunner or passenger switched into the pilot seat with plenty of time to spare. Use rockets.
Unless you are playing a very well coordinated team, flanking snipers is pretty easy to do. They tend to ignore their immediate surroundings most of the time, even when they are using motion sensors.
Do yourself a favor and try out the sniping once you start playing this game. This game has the most satisfying sniping of any FPS I can think of imo.
Is this game related to the Record of Lodoss War anime in any way? The titles seem to similar to be a coincidence, but I guess the Japanese can be pretty unoriginal sometimes.
If you do start again and blacksmithing was too much of a pain in the ass, go with two gathering professions (mining, skinning, or herbalism): all you need to do is collect materials then sell them on the auction house. It's what I wish I had done; I don't even want to know how much time I spent trying to collect/purchase materials for leveling engineering.
