Games I've Beaten
A true list of games I played to completion without use of external devices or new technology (game genie, emulation save states, trainers) at the time they were released.

The last NES Mega Man I bothered with.
so what, there wasn't anything else to rent.
A damn fine game that many never heard of. The first game I played a pre-release version of.
I admit I played it because of the box art.
Much like Section Z, but less dull.
I thought it was something to do with Fist of the North Star, mainly because of the box art.
One of the best Zelda clones of the era. A sequel for the Neo was talked about at one time.
Great box art, crummy game.
The box art is way better than the game.
An all around better game than TSE, but the music was not as good.
You tell me if you think that box says vertical shooter on it.
About as maddening as Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde, mainly because it's the same damn game.
Compile, nuff said.
One of the overlooked games by the masters at Sunsoft.
Taxan really dropped the ball on the box art. The game was actually pretty good, but the box makes it look like the guy hanged himself.
I rented this un-licensed game for the sole reason that it was based on a local exterminator company. That totally blew my mind.
I used to play the arcade version as both vehicles, yeah.
I agree with Jeff, gameplay-wise this is a better game than the arcade version.
This game is ugly from the box art to the last boss.
Nintendo, Hudson, and Nihon Falcom make a game. Need I say more? Virtual Console, where you at?
Kiss my Black Bass.
Ironically Square's first RPG in the West was ignored and a failure. It actually is quite good, it just came out before we were ready for the genre.
A game as weird as its name.
HAL made some of the best NES games nobody played, a damn shame.
A masterpiece.
This game advertised itself as the first game to feature three game styles, it wasn't. Top Secret Episode had upwards of six. But this game was pretty good considering how early in the NES life it was released.
Probably the biggest reason to own a turbo-equipped controller.
More greatness from HAL.
Responsible for my quest to finally watch the show. The game is very bad though.
Why Namcot didn't bring it out I don't know, a game this good didn't need three different companies to finally come to the NES.
Not what I'd call a great game, but it did some interesting things in a crowded genre. Although I think a simpler game would have sufficed, and made more fans happy.
It's pretty crazy this game came out, but it's actually pretty damn good, with almost a Goonies II vibe.
Under-appreciated.
Unprecedented for a baseball game on the NES. It had a battery backup!
If Samus could turn into a spaceship, this is what Metroid would be.
goofy
Sorely unknown, another example of an RPG game released too soon for people to appreciate.
Without an uzi in your hand it is sorely lacking.
Very original, and sorely unknown.
Yeah, I played it for Kari Wuhrer, so what?
Bowling yo.
I've always liked this idea for a game.
Vic Tokai, why wasn't this Golgo 13 3?
The first strategy game I played. Pretty good for a generic turn-based one, a good entry-level game.
Ubiquitous.
A surprisingly accurate port of the arcade game.
ugh.
Ralph and Clark needed the money after Victory Road.
The music was atrocious, but the game was well done. The Genesis game is the best in the series.
The best football game ever, zig-zag and all.
An Addams Family game based on the bad parts of Blaster Master? It sounds bad but ended up being quite good. I always wanted them to go back and make Blaster Master with the improved on-foot game of this.
meh.
Behold greatness.
To this day I still hate this game. I guess anything after Legend of Zelda would look inferior though.
Now you're playing with power.
The ending is far more meta then we realized at the time.
Brutal, but addicting.
A spectacular game that did things on the NES that no game had done before or since. Way ahead of its time.
A lackluster port of the great arcade game.
Probably the most overlooked game on the NES that was officially licensed.
The NES version was different than this. It was more of a sim than a Super Cobra clone. Although I admit I'd have preferred the latter.
Way ahead of its time. I remember many friends being disappointed with it, thinking it was going to be like Contra or Rush n' Attack.
The only sports game that could get three friends who hated sports to play one and love it. Nintendo at its finest.
The first game I bought on the day it came out, then proceeded to stay up all night to beat it. Good times.
I swear I think I'm the only person that loves this game.
I admit to using the grenade trick, but only because I found it myself halfway through the game.
Proof that tennis is always a good choice for a video game. I also liked the box art, it reminded me of the classic Atari stuff.
I will argue that this game is the best Baseball game of all time.
gold
Box art is far better than the game.
I yanked this from a still-powered NES and threw it against the wall.
A sad day when the version on the Sega console was worse.
At one time my favorite game on the NES. Still a damn good game that needs to be revived.
I still preferred Pro Wrestling.
