I think the only kind of person who would have a legitimate reason to be upset about this is the kind of person who takes SSB seriously, and they are not a legitimate kind of person so it all comes full circle
It's a form of entertainment I guess. We could all spend our time better in some way. Is it any better to spend time watching a TV show or a football game? Going for a hike or riding a bike? Reading? Shopping?
It's all what you pay attention to I guess. Hiking and riding a bike can be good for your health, they can connect you to your environment in a meaningful way, and they can lead to interesting experiences. Video games might be little more than escapism for some. If you use games just that way, and I think a lot of people do, it can be regrettable. Everything in moderation of course (a little escapism never hurt anyone), but I think it is not totally uncommon for people to emptily waste time in front of a screen for too many hours of their life.
Indeed. It's an easy fallacy to make that people who are maybe worried about their own habits, to say that "things are pretty much the way they always have been." Never before has it been so easy to engage your mind so little and so unproductively.
