I would be interested, just post an update on the time. I actually have that whole day off work and class, so I can make pretty much any time. Just will have to pull myself away from Star Wars for a bit...

The tournaments will be located on the actual tournament site. The MLG VODs from Providence were up (I watched them) a few days after...but you might need a MLG subscription. Outside of that you should just do your best to keep up with the scene and catch them when they are streamed. Another great tournament was the one hosted by Wellplayed.org, which can be found at http://wellplayed.org/rampage. Those VODs should be up and easy to view.

As far as streaming, someone mentioned Twitch.tv, sure you might find some on there. However most LoL players use Own3d.tv for streaming. Espically the major streamers such as HotShotGG, SaintVicious, Ocelote, Chaox, Bigfatlp...etc. So what I would recommend is using a stream aggregator, such as the one over at - wellplayed.tv. You can set your games for whatever you interested in and it will display all of the streamers in that category no matter the site. So you won't have to worry about checking both Twitch and Own3d to find a stream, they will all be on the same spot. Hope this helps.

It just takes experience. Over time it will get a lot easier to notice everything. Also you got to look at your time played, of course after playing 500+ games of LoL you will understand the visuals. You need to put that that into Dota 2 to gain the same amount.

Joined group, would love to play some games with people.

As far as joining the chat channels, do you know of anyway to create / join one other then going properties -> -console then in game have to type chat_join? It is such a pain to get into channels to chat with people or find groups.

Like it or not, HoN is on its way out. Purely because there are only so many fans of these type of games out there. LoL has done a great job of catering to the masses by making things simpler. It is pretty easy to understand and doesn't punish you if you are bad. Plus with the addition of Dominion, they will retain the more casual players. But with HoN, most HoN players are previous Dota players who didn't want to use the old War3 engine anymore. Valve just has more money and a bigger name, which will allow them to convince the HoN players to move on to Dota2. I don't see what sort of drastic shift S2 can make in the next year when Dota 2 is finished to convince players to stay.

The goal of Dota2 was just to make an exact copy of Dota1 outside of the War3 engine. After they have an exact copy, they then will probably improve upon it. But why would they make changes to the game when it has been so successful.

You sir are quite a lucky person! I have been dying to get my hands on a Dota 2 key since the International. Probably have done close to 20 or 30 contests, sat in at least 4 of 5 chatrooms waiting for a key contest, and tried to buy keys off people. Never any luck. I wish I had your attitude...the wait is killing me.

Hey GB community. I just started working at a Academic Behavioral Club in which we are working with kids who are at risk students, have social disabilities, and suffer from some developmental disorders. Essentially it is a place for children to come, get one on one help with a teacher, an on staff Psychologist, and be a positive place for them to be. By making it fun for them, we have multiple PS3s, 360s, Wiis, iPads, and iPod Touches. Rather then giving out stickers or prizes, the electronics are used as e-reinforcers to try and promote academic growth and social communication. Since the kids have a hard time focusing on one subject or area at a time, we like to keep them moving non-stop. The goal is to get them to sit down and get a piece of homework finishes or finish an educational program and then move them onto a fun activity for anywhere from 3-10 min.

Currently the biggest hits I have found with the kids is Fruit Ninja Kinect and Sports Champions on the PS3. I am looking for other games, like these, that they can jump on...have a fun time / try to get a high score, then move right back into the academics. It makes it a lot easier to have them set high scores and try to put them on the "Wall of Fame" or offer incentives for them working together or playing independently the whole time. But the games seem to work better when there is an end point, it is hard to pull them away from a single player game to go back to academics when there is no stopping point. Since we just opened up, I have been able to get by with these as my main games for the past few weeks. However I suspect the kids will get tired of them and want some new stuff sooner or later. Any recommendations you could give, anything that you might think is fun or think kids ranging from the ages 7-14 would enjoy. Some ideas I have had is Pac Man Championship Edition, Wipeout HD, and maybe something like Geometry Wars. Any system works, any price range, and it can be disc or downloadable. Thanks for the suggestions!

Guys i played Demon's souls and now dark souls. i know how hard can be the game. but the fun of this game is also play with friends, fight togheter red phantoms and coordinate the attacks. i really hope is a kinda mistake, or a provvisory server. and please, dont say "is because its more difficult in this way". even if u're playing with a friend online the game is aniway fucking hard. they just cut off half of the fun.

It isn't a mistake. They don't really want this to be a "co op" game. As someone already said, they party system is mostly for when you are stuck. Sometimes a boss might be really hard for you because your character is built a certain way. You then group up with someone to finish off the boss, then get back to your own world and continue along.

I do agree with ya that it could be fun to play with friends. But they designed the whole world to be fighting most everything solo, it isn't like a game like Monster Hunter which is built from the ground up with multiplayer in mind.

They are both different games and you need to play Skyrim first. I know I will like Dark Souls more because I don't really enjoy the Elder Scrolls games. But I know most people in the west prefer that type of game.
