See, I think if this had been originally the ending of the game, it would've been fine. What I hate is BioWare's spineless backtracking from the original ending. Destroying the mass relays in particular was a really brave thing for them to do in my opinion, and I really admired that decision. But no, now they're only "severely damaged". It's gutless. Same goes for the Normandy, the ship isn't even remotely damaged in the new ending. Why have the scene of the crashed Normandy at all anymore?

The original endings were deeply flawed, sure. But I still loved that synthesis ending so much. The idea that Joker and EDI could be the Adam and Eve of a brand new form of life, that their offspring would go on to inherit the galaxy from the ashes of the war between organics and synthetics, I thought that was really beautiful. I never thought in a million years thought the synthesis ending meant that every living thing in the galaxy was transformed against its will, that's monstrous!

Warcraft 2. My group of friends still talk about one particularly epic 4-player free-for-all we had back in '97, dude was down to one peon and came back to win the match. That was the peak of online play for me, it's been all downhill since.

  • Didn't shoot Jolene because of how anxious Danny (it was Danny, right? The one who looked like a young Martin Sheen?)

Martin Sheen, really? I actually think they re-purposed a character model from the Back to the Future game: (BttF: The Game spoilers) To me he looked a ton like middle-aged Marty from the future.

I just don't know about re-subbing after mine expires later this year. Before it felt like I was helping out the GB crew directly and I got bonus videos as a thank you for helping them out. Now they are owned by CBSi who isn't relying on my extra cash to keep the lights on for another week and the subscription is just butter for CBSi. It felt like a donation before.

So many people in this thread are posting this kind of reasoning, and it's infuriating. Seriously, do you think because they're owned by a large company, they don't need to generate revenue anymore? That they don't need to turn a profit? I mean honestly, how is it so many people have absolutely no clue how corporations work? You think CBS is just an infinite well of cash that Giant Bomb can draw from whenever they please? I mean, if you don't think a sub is worth it that's one thing, totally up to you. But saying that somehow they don't need to make money anymore... it's just an asinine position to take.

Speaking purely as an observer, it seems to me CBSi bought Giant Bomb in large part because they were able to find ways to sell a lot of subscriptions, proportionally speaking. I'm guessing a primary reason Giant Bomb remains separate from Gamespot is because their business models are so different -- Gamespot's revenue is primarily advertising-based, Giant Bomb's is largely subscription based. From a business standpoint, the only reason for CBS not to merge the sites is because they know it'll erode Giant Bomb's subscriber base. But if that ends up happening anyway, CBS really has no reason to allow Giant Bomb to continue to exist.

  • Didn't chop the guy's leg off. That's all I need is a legless guy to take care of. A guy who can't run isn't going to last long. I would've preferred to put him out of his misery, but it didn't seem like an option.
  • Clem, Duck, Kenny and Mark. I was all about Team Kenny in Episode 1, little did I know how things would change...
  • Didn't shoot Jolene, for the same reason as everyone else.
  • Stopped Clem from eating Mark because I'm not a monster.
  • Tried to save Larry. I fought hard in Ep.1 to stop Larry from doing the same thing to Duck, I thought it'd be completely hypocritical to kill Larry here. Lost a lot of respect for Kenny on that score. Kenny's unique brand of "you obviously must know how to pick locks" casual racism certainly didn't help.
  • Killed Cannibal #1, didn't kill Cannibal #2. Dramatically it just felt right.
  • Took the supplies. Lee went the entire episode without a bite to eat, I mean an entire day has passed and he went through quite an ordeal. Clem at least got some cheese and crackers, and everyone else got some delicious Mark Meat. What do I get? Nothing. Doug wouldn't even share his biscuit basket with me.

Speaking of which, I feel completely redeemed for saving Doug. He really came through in this episode, never in a million years did I expect him to appear at the end and save the day. And while I'm sure Carly fills the exact same role in a Kaiden/Ashley sort of way, I seriously doubt she does so with the same level of ingenuity and panache as Doug. Don't ever change Doug, you're coming along with me until the bitter end.

Your honor, allow me to enter the wall-of-text screed in this thread from @Goggen240 into the record as Exhibit A.

Actually, LucasArts developing any kind of video game in-house is kind of surprising at this point.

, I would've expected you of all people to mention this aspect of the story:

There can be no question our country is in the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes. I also think there can be no question that it falls on us, the individuals, to find a way out of our own personal crisis." - Curt Schilling on the subject of government stimulus packages, February 2011
