If the federal-prison-time-law that has to do with online streaming of copyrighted material comes into play it's really going to benefit the creatoris in a huge way, like whith the record companies destroying the internet to make sure the artists get paid. They get paid so much now, the artists! Ohboy, let me tell you. The money, oh it is so good. All that money, mmmm! Raining down from above now that piracy is over!
Record companies took all of the revenue. The artists got less, and not only that, artists now no longer have _ANY_ way to be discovered by new audiences... We're 40 years past radio. 25 ears past MTV mattering. After that era the musicians kinda lucked out, let me say that again, ARTISTS LUCKED OUT AND GOT PLAYED BY A POPULAR YOUTUBER OR STREAMER... By being played by that tuber you're getting maybe a few million fresh ears for your sweetest beats........... They put an end to this under the guise of making sure the artists got paid...... If Pewdiepie played one of your songs, that would literally be a gazillion bucks worth of PR.. But nah, wouldn't want that.
Someone needs to throttle these fucks before they literally destroy the internet fully. People who think that record labels and movie studios won't put people in prison have NO IDEA how ruthless these fucks actually are. The industry literally hire ruthless psychopath fucks specifically to deal with this, and they go at people HARD. Now, with the ability to seek prison time, they 100% absolutely definitely will. Not just that, they'll automate the whole thing. There's going to be a reign of terror coming from this. You used to get your youtube channel banned and lose all your revenue. Now you'll get a takedown message and realize that there's a literal chance of prison time attached to it...... That's not nothing.
Also, all protest videos on the internet will be removed because of music in the background. They are literally wiping out the internet and making fact checking EXTREMELY hard. They have WAY too much power to manipulate the public records with these things. I've seen videos disappear over the years, important videos, just poof! gone. Guess it never happened.
Or on the flipside, if I was to go around just throwing slurs and shit all over the place, or going full on racist Karen, all I would need to do to do that safely without risking any consequences is play Nickelback on full blast on my phone while I'm in a psychotic tantrum... The evidence is literally unpublishable. Your evidence of my horribleness will never be seen. On the flipside of that, cops only need a boombox with some Metallica on it to beat the shit out of someone and the evidence will never be seen by the general public. It will be insta-deleted even before hitting youtube. How's that sound in terms of exposing corruption and similar? I can bribe and blackmail as long as I have a loud soundtrack to go along with my atrocities.
Congrats, rich fucks. The collateral damage is going to have horrible sociopolitical effects. The fact that we let the entertainment industry bone us like this should be a point of intense shame for humanity at large. Literally letting the _entertainment industry_ dictate how the god damned internet is supposed to work... Like the internet is the property of streaming services and shit... It is not.. It would make more sense to let Reddit dictate shit than Warner Bros...

Gotta stop taking the entertainment industry so seriously. They make movies and shit, they should dictate exactly _nothing_ in our lives. Nothing.

Hey vinny; If you get real good with those compressors you don't necessarily need a limiter, but a brickwall limiter either on the main mix or on the louder folks is a good idea regardless.

Also, some compressors are hella hard to use cause they don't have any visual representation of the compression, you just have to guess your way to the threshold and stuff, nightmare. Compressors are the effect plugins that have the worst UI of all audio apps. Seems like they were all made for audio engineers who already know exactly how to use them and say stuff like "the TRC204 is superior to the xm 545XR7S because it has active spatial equalization on the pre compressor..." leaving people going "I don't know if these are even things....." They are not..

Also, show sounds really good today :)

I like how the car's speed and sound doesn't match up at all.. Vinny was hitting the rev limiter in 4th and the car is doing 25mph in dense traffic.... There's literally no sense of speed in this, which is insane for a game that's this vehicle-heavy. I know it's not the main focus, but damn. Doesn't even look like the cars have any physical cohesion with the world at large. Very 1997 type vehicle physics going on.. Looks more like the cars are walking around in the streets rather than rolling on wheels.

Also, the game looks good and all, but it looks like an amazingly detailed game world, it doesn't ever look "real". MSFS 2020 looks real much of the time, this never looks like it's a real place. At it's best it looks like what a dreamworks cyberpunk movie would look like. Which is great, just not real. Most of the time it looks like what 1998 me thought games would look like... Colored lights and dense indoor fog etc, only super pretty. I get that they went for style and all, but yeah. I'm not a huge fan of the look of this.

The whole Hardwick situation you spoke of makes me wince... Like, sure, we don't _know_ that he is guilty, but also we don't really know he's NOT guilty.. He couldn't get convicted in a court of law by this, but when you invite a person like that you essentially vouch for his innocence, or at the very least proclaim him to be a safe guest, which is insane to me. Only way he would be a safe guest is if the accusations were false. Right now there are easily as many who believe he is guilty as believe he is not. As you said, it was a choice they made to include him. Would they have if he was a proven rapist? Nah. Very, VERY unlikely.. So why did they? Cause they believe there's zero chance evidence will ever surface, cause they believe it to be a false accusation. Logix be easy.

If they saw it as 10% chance that what was claimed is true, Hardwich would never have been on this show again, ever. But as it is right now, too many people just believe him over her... and when they make important business decisions that very much signal their inability to read the room/understand our time, that's not a great signal.

This smacks of gen-x business people thinking they know the youths. 100% they'll have a show with the word XTREME in it.

The biggest events for me in gaming were Mario on the NES. Then Doom on an ancient PC.. Then the advent of 3d accelerators and the whole immensely exciting time that followed. This came at the same times as internet multiplayer became a thing, extremely awesome time in the 90s.

After that there wasn't really any enormous leap for a good long while. The first big change to how gaming works were MMOs. As mentioned, everquest and WoW did things for gaming that made it a thing for everyone. WoW was a life changer for me. Online gaming in general really. The internet was probably the biggest thing to ever happen for games.

After WoW nothing really happened for a decade, then VR came along, and for some of us, that was always our goal. I've wanted VR since I was 5 and tried a light gun for the first time on a philips pong machine. I wanted VR but I never thought I'd actually get it. VR is truly ready for people to adopt right now, but it's just gotten too tarnished by people at large. We still hear idiocy like "it's mostly tech demos" like what said by the media in 2016 still applies.. And I hear this from the media a lot too, especially people who haven't really played VR.. Like Bakalar who got nauseous cause an idiot friend decided that he would make VR suck even more and told him to play Boneworks.... Just so much bad info and negative press, not sure it's actually ever going to be accepted by gamers at large.

VR has taken the same path as all the other platforms. 4-5 years of garbage, then it turns a corner. 2020 was VR turning the corner in a huge way with the Quest 2 being cheap and awesome, and the games being fucking baller now. Anyone could have said exactly the same about video games in 1980 as people say about VR now, and they did say that. then 5 years passed and Mario came along, and that was that. We don't have the "Mario of VR" yet, but neither does _any other platform_ so that's OK.

I see no other development in the future that is even remotely as engaging as VR. Raytracing is just more graphics, which means games will be prettier and not much else changes. That's what's happened with flat games over the past 2 generations.. All added performance is shovelled directly into better graphics, the games themselves remain exactly the same as they were. Far Cry has played the same since FC3, and that was 2 gens ago. Same with Asscreed and all the other 3rd person shit.. It just gets prettier... Raytracing is just a continuation of that non-innovation we see in the AAA space. It's emblematic of the problem I have with gaming as large right now: If you want to PLAY something fresh, that means you play ugly indie games. If you want to take advantage of your new console, you'll be playing 3rd person action games with role playing elements that are kinda the only reason you come back. Gotta unlock that [insert object name].

I have no idea what future development might make screen-games better aside from graphics. No sign of destructible environments or anything for this gen. There's like never anything new on screens anymore.. Depressing as hell. I would be fine with the ps4 and xbone generations never happening. It was by far the most boring gen I have experienced, and I've experienced them all. Some good games, mostly just rehash at 30fps.

This game looks like it was made with random assets marked "mythology" from the secret menu from the Unity Asset Store. Generic Ruins Pack 03 is getting a lot of screen time.

isnt crazy that people cant tell the difrence if the ray tracing is on or off? Raytracing is so overated, another opportunity to rip our wallets.

Yeah, most of the benefits that make ray-tracing thought of as a 'holy grail' of graphics rendering really aren't present here, and probably won't be present as long as ray-tracing performance is poor enough that it can only be used in a piecemeal way. Right now it's merely being used as an effect to replace other effects, as opposed to being a physically-based complete replacement of the rasterization pipeline.

I can foresee that in another decade or so the industry is going to struggle to convince people that ray-tracing is more than just an expensive method for doing mirror reflections and ambient occlusion shadows. Or maybe before then we'll have something like Otoy's Brigade finally making a big splash, who knows.

I kinda hope they move away from the insane graphics focus and get working on destruction and physics. For me, that adds so much more to gameplay than shiny stuff and realistic surfaces. Graphics are cool and all, but I feel like always throwing all the next gen power on more and more shiny puddles is a waste. So much stuff one can do with that extra juice...

@rebellion91: I loved that game. I also love Sprint Car games, it's just constant drifting on dirt. So fun.
