Childhood games.

Some people throughout their lives experience a childhood, and I was one such lucky individual. I was born in 1989 and the first system I remember owning (other than a PC) was an SNES. A few years after having untold amounts of fun, the room that housed the SNES, which was adjacent to our laundry room, was flooded by machines in said laundry room when a pipe burst. That led to a later purchase of the Genesis. Later on, a PSone was purchased. I also owned most iterations of the gameboy at that time and also played the other classic Nintendo consoles at various times.

Here-in you will find a list of games that I can remember playing, for any amount of time. Please note that a possible majority of these games may be bad and occasionally horrendous. I apologize in advance for the bad memories spawned by any games found on the following list.

1. Doom

I'll never forget walking into my father's disjointed music room, a computer housed in the center like a shrine, and watching him traverse the world of Doom. I vividly remember being amazed at how the bottom of the screen had the protagonist's face that would slowly bruise as time (and damage taken) wore on. I had a brief period of playing this game before my mother saw me playing it. I wouldn't see the game for the remainder of my childhood.

I remember thinking this was one of the worst games I ever played.
22. Bubsy 3D

I almost felt like I shouldn't put this game on the list. This game is undoubtedly the worst game I ever played in my life.

24. Wave Race

...this game. Definitely an upgrade, but nothing amazing.

Many of my friends and I share many days, weeks, months spent playing this game. I've yet to play the apparently superior Perfect Dark, and I don't mind that at all.
27. Super Mario 64

My brother required frequent braces care and my first ever experience playing this was at that dentists office. I was stunned at the time. I also played Cruis'n USA there, which is later on this list.
28. The Pagemaster

Our local video store was called Gotham Video and I'll never forget the day they started to house video games for rent. Not only did they have the most bad-ass name a video store could have, but they were my gaming mainstay for a while as I had a Genesis. The Pagemaster was a game I rented from them. I remember liking it, but I don't think I want to test that memory today. There will be notes next to games I remember renting from there.
29. The Legend of Zelda

My friend owned the only NES I had access to. He also owned this. I eternally thank him.
30. Super Mario Bros.
31. Duck Hunt

This almost was Super Mario Bros. 1.5 for me though it has nothing to do with the series.

The greatest platforming game of all time.

36. NBA Jam Tournament Edition

HE'S ON FIRE!
One of the few sports games I'm sure I could still enjoy today. Probably the best sports game in existence.
37. Ecco the Dolphin

I hate this game almost as much as Bubsy 3D.
38. Mortal Kombat

Thank you Gotham Video for showing me Mortal Kombat. Genesis version. Blood. ABACABB
39. Dr. Mario

Original GameBoy.
40. Monopoly

Played it on the original GameBoy. Boring.

42. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Never finished the game. Wish I could play it now.

I still own these two games somewhere. I also have a GameBoy color that I played them on somewhere. I loved them both to death.

45. Dragon Warrior Monsters

This was a game me and my step-brother both had copies of. I'm not sure what kind of performance it did, but we both absolutely loved this game to death. Not a week goes by that me and him somehow make a reference to it in the form of monster names.
In the game, when you capture a new monster, you can name it with a 4 char max.
We were immature children. There was a monster that was half man half green bean. Put the pieces together.
46. Killer Instinct

I had it for the original GameBoy. My friend stole one of my GameBoy games, so I stole one of his.
47. Rampage World Tour

Played this on the GameBoy color.
48. Harvest Moon

Played this on the original GameBoy (might have been on the color, or at least the pocket). Much fun was had. Fond memories.
49. Road Rash

Had this on the GameBoy. This was the game of mine my friend stole. I think this was the better game. Jerk.
50. Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX

Played some version of this on the GameBoy. I played the living hell out of it on a family camping trip. Not the greatest game, but I still would probably prefer it today over camping. Who the hell can enjoy camping?
51. Mario Kart 64
52. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
53. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
54. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

The greatest Star Wars licensed game.
55. San Francisco Rush 2049
56. Cruis'n USA

57. Vigilante 8

Played it on the 64.
58. Star Wars: Episode I - Racer

I feel ashamed that I gave money towards LucasArts at all for Episode I, but I was a kid. And it really wasn't too bad of game.
59. Mario Golf
60. WWF No Mercy

The only wrestling game I remember playing, and the last. I was really into wrestling for a few years as a kid. The last thing I remember happening was WCW merging with WWF to become WWE. I stopped watching then.
61. 1080° Snowboarding
62. Final Fantasy VII

Gotham video also introduced me to this thing.
I don't care what anyone says, this really is one of the greatest games. It's been tarnished over the years because of the idiotic part of the fan base, but I still love it.
63. 007: Tomorrow Never Dies

I remembered loving Goldeneye007, so I jumped at the chance to play this. Not the greatest game, but I remember replaying this one level where you could shoot enemies and they would fall into some paper-grinder machine. I loved doing that. A lot.
64. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Much time spent.
65. Gex

I don't know why I played the Gex games. I think they had something to do with spoofing games or genres or something, but I kept getting them, so I kept playing them.
66. Gex: Enter the Gecko

Still playing Gex.
67. Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko

Yeah, I don't think I'd go back to play these.
68. Twisted Metal

No one is better than Roadkill. I played this game too many times to count and loved every second. Also, Grimm sucks ass.
69. Resident Evil: Director's Cut

Jill, here's a lockpick. It might come in handy if YOU, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

This game confused me as a child and stands as the only Tomb Raider game I've played. I must have played in the mansion area for hours and hours, not understanding why there was nothing to do. But I did enjoy locking the butler into the freezer on many occasions.

KICK! PUNCH! It’s all in the mind. If you wanna test me, I’m sure you’ll find the things I’ll teach ya is sure to beat ya, but nevertheless you’ll get a lesson from teacher.

Played on the PS1. I don't think a better football game exists. Blitz '00 was and is the only football game I'd ever desire to play.

Me and one of my still very good friends knocked out this and the sequel. Amazing games.

89. Test Drive: Off-Road

The first day I played this, my father served me a bowl of what was pea soup. I vomited.
That's all I remember of this game.
