There are things in both that I like and some I dislike. I like having multiple weapons, but I prefer aiming down the sites. I like health packs, but I prefer it to have a better plot. I'd rather have large, less-linear levels, but I do like cool set pieces. I'd argue that both have had strong multiplayer as well. If I had to choose, I'd choose the old kind of shooter.

That said, I'd really like it for something else to come along and change up the formula again. This generation of shooters has been stale for a long time, in my opinion.

I met Alex (and the rest of the Giant Bomb crew) at PAX East this year and they were very nice and liked hearing from a fan, so I don't think he would've minded if you said hi.

Trey and Matt are on board for writing, so at the very least, it'll be funny. I'm pretty excited. I still think South Park is hilarious.

Until this thread, I never really thought why I do it. I guess there's the obvious reason in that I'm a straight male and like to look at female's, but I think it's more than that. In the case of Mass Effect, I vastly prefer female Shepard's voice actress to male Shepard's voice actor. I don't know. Maybe it's because I don't like to portray myself in video games, so I choose female's to get further away from myself. That's a crap answer. I guess I really don't know.

While my gut reaction is "MY GOD NO!," I guess if you could turn them off and save it so they are off permanently, I don't see the harm.

But still... no.

Showing the comedic parts of a movie doesn't automatically make it a comedy, just like showing the serious parts of a movie doesn't automatically make it a drama. Wall-E has some serious parts, Hunchback has some goofy parts. Lion King has a gag where Pumba's butt kills plant life I think (haven't seen it in a while). Hunchback has a gargoyle voiced by Jason Alexander belching. You can't post three minute clips of a 90+ minute movie without context and pass that off as your argument.

I just wanted to say that if celebrities in movies bother you, the Lion King has:

Jeremy Irons

James Earl Jones

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Nathan Lane

Matthew Broderick

Whoopi Goldberg

That's just off the top of my head. There may be others to a less famous extent, but celebrities nonetheless. And even Aladdin had super recognizable Robin Williams.

I want to know when he was due, I want to know if it was a natural birth or not, I want to know if he's going to go by his middle name or his first name.

Basically, I smell foul play. I think, unless it was a natural birth, it's cheating. CHEATING I SAY!

I haven't played it yet, but I'll probably use the pad. Like what was said, those menus look clearly designed with a control in mind. I might change my mind if I can use the number keys for quick changing spells or whatever. Plus, there's no multiplayer, so I don't have to worry about my accuracy sucking.

Just because Zelda has never had voice acting, doesn't mean it shouldn't. They've been trying to pull off the cinematic style since Ocarina, and while it was okay back then, having to read those backstory flashbacks about the Tri-force is getting old. Link doesn't need to talk, but everybody else has written dialogue, so why can't they have voice actors? If done properly, I don't think it would detract at all. I'm sure a lot of people would be a lot more hostile to a game without voice acting if it wasn't Zelda.
