@JackOhara: Almost all LCD monitors have no upscalers. That's why everything below 1920x1080 looks like total shit on your or my screen.

Then explain how the image covers all the pixels on the screen. If the image did not get upscaled, anything lower than your native resolution will be displayed as an image boxed in black bars all around (i.e 1:1 pixel output). Yet regardless of whatever resolution you choose to run, your monitor will display it in fullscreen (meaning it does upscale).

The reason why you'd perhaps not perceive the same blurriness on TV is that you're sitting farther back from the screen than you do when you're playing a PC game. Get up close to a TV though, and you'll see even worse image quality than you see on your monitor.

I got a Deus Ex vibe from the VOs. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Stacking and Costume Quest were both GFWL, so this isn't too surprising.

False. Stacking and Costume Quest were both Steamworks games.

There's a lot of talk about it have Games For Windows Live though :(

It's published by Microsoft. GFWL was to be expected all along. They either accept Microsoft's conditions, or not publish on PC at all.

I'll take GFWL over no game at all, thanks.

GPU Overclocking - Hardly worth it. Never got any significant boost out of it, and it's pretty hit or miss since it's hard to test for stability and you'd need to have some pretty good luck with a chip to overclock it enough to get a decent result out of it.

CPU Overclocking - Absolutely worth it. Do it all the time!

It still goes beyond me why internet speeds are in bits when file sizes are in bytes...

Well, I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that bytes weren't always standardized to 8 bits. A byte is an arbitrary concept of a group of bits, but a bit has always been and will always be a bit. Plus the fact that you send bits on a wire, and not bytes. For those reasons, dealing in bits was just simpler and more straightforward.

Also it doesn't hurt that saying you have a 1000 Mbit connection sounds more impressive than simply saying you have a 128 MByte connection. Bigger numbers sell better.

Sure, I'll buy it again. But I'm also going to buy Darksiders 2 and Guild Wars 2, and they all get released in more or less the same week. I'm not sure I'll be able to get them all at the same time, but we'll see.

@dennisthemennis: You can probably get it for like $20 new on PS3 at this point, so it won't be anywhere near $60 if you're trying to avoid GFWL. I got it for $25 for PS3 months ago.

Sure, I've had my fair share of haters... probably even still do. I don't think it's deserved or justified personally, but what are you gonna do? You can't please everyone.

The worst part is when you let them get to you, which even I am guilty of sometimes. I should work on that.

I usually don't let people get to me I can take verbal insults. The more you let it get to you and it shows. Then people are just going to keep doing it.

Oh, don't worry. I can take insults as well as I can dish them back out. I keep a tough exterior, and most people would not be able to tell what does or doesn't get to me. Doesn't change the fact that some things just get to you, one way or another, and they're always ehcoing in the back of your head. I think that thisis the larger part of my problem more than anything.
