I absolutely loved the story line in this game. The graphics were amazing for the time and I really enjoyed the leveling up system. I have played through this 4 times already and I do want to play through it again. I spent more time playing the minigame, Blitzball, then I have playing a lot of other games.
This was the perfect way to makeup for Oblivion. The graphics are amazing and the controls are great. The main quest and all of the guilds are interesting story lines that aren't extraordinarily long, about 8-10 hours. The real joy in this game is the random questing.
The first game in the series was my favorite because it felt like there was infinite possibilities for things to do in the universe. Also it was the most of an RPG which is my favorite genre of games out of the 3.
This was my first straight up RPG that I have played through. It was one of two games I bought when I got my PS2. The storyline was so memorable for me that I still remember almost all of it and I haven't played it again since I 1st beat it 10 years ago. The characters are what made this game.
This is the game I have spent the most time on ever. Over the course of 2 and a half years I played this for over a total of 1100 hours and was still finding new things. It really was the first RPG that made me feel as if I was the character.
Modern day adventure game with an awesome story line, interesting characters and a tremendous setting. Love absolutely everything about this game.
Open world game set in Hong Kong which is a nice change of pace to most of them being set in the states. The hand to hand is so fun to do that I ignored the gun play for most of the game. The story was very engrossing as well. I have beat this game 3 times and loved it each time.
Nice game play, super deep mythology and a hardcore RPG.
This game was really my first experience playing games online. Played it for over 700 hours and was ranked number 6 in the world for the game and had a couple of world records at one point. Every racing game since I have compared to RSC.
I felt that there was no reason splitting this into multiple entries like some other series's because they are all basically the same. Love the most of the music in the series and I still listen to it quite often. Also spent a lot of time dancing to it. I was usually playing at about 7 feet.
Another series that I felt no need splitting up because each year there are slight improvements and good year on year. I have had to have spent over a thousand hours at this point playing the FIFA. They have been my relaxing game that I can always go back to.
Unlike most of the internet I actually liked the ending to the series. The ending was fine and even though it did kind of feel like they had to do there greatest hits by showing all the main players if would have felt weird if they hadn't wrapped up somebody's story line.
This was the first PC game that I ever got into. I remember before I had a PC going to my cousin's house just to play it. Also helped my get over my fear of coasters, which is now one of my favorite hobbies.
I never had really gotten into a giant strategy game before and this was a great primer to get ready for the big boys and I still play this from time to time if I want strategy without a 20 to 30 hour commitment.
My first video game. I remember getting into this when I was like 6 or 7 and loving it. Every Tetris game since the original Gameboy has been a bit of a disappointment because they end you at level 15 and I would regularly get to level 30 on the Gameboy.
The middle chapter was awesome but the reason it is the lowest of the 3 for me is that they pulled a lot of the RPG elements that I really enjoyed from the first one.
This game alone was the reason I bought a PS3. It is such an interesting concept being able to play as 4 different people and have several different ending and the possibility of having all 4 people die throughout the course of the game.
The undeniable high water mark in terms of an Assassin's Creed game. It was such an improvement over the first one. The scope was huge, the story was great and the movement was markedly improved.
The first game in the series I played. The only reason I played it was because of Jeff and I don't regret it. I have never been a huge fan of GTA and this was the type of ridiculous open world game I was really looking for.
What a surprise for me. The game play is nothing to great but the choices this game makes you make are staggering. The story was depressing but entertaining in the same breath.
I just started playing this game about 6 months ago and I haven't been able to stop playing it. To be reductive it is 2d Minecraft. It came out at the same time as Minecraft and was a fully fledged game not just a sandbox even though it can be that if you want it to be.
What an amazing looking game. It was such a leap forward when compared to the first one. There were so many twists and turns, fun gun play and intelligent writing. A total standout.
This is a beat'em up game with RPG elements in it with super heroes. Had a bunch of fun with it and beat it multiple times with different people each time.
I think I would have enjoyed the super nintendo version of this game more but one of those carts was really hard to find. Played this so much that when I would get in trouble I would get grounded from it not the system.
I was big into the Pokemon cartoon series and the Gameboy games so seeing them in the format was awesome. I wish there were more games like this.
This was my first foray into the story driven choice based style of RPG that would help really shape not only the games I like now, but the industry in general.
It came out so quickly after the first one that they kind of blend together in my memory so it only seems fitting that they should do the same on my list.
To show how much I was into the Pokemon games I bought a second gameboy, both versions of the game and collected all 150 of the original Pokemon.
It is a great hack and slash game and was super fun to play. But the reason it is on the list so high is that it was a perfect excuse to get on skype with my friends and keep me out of a deep depression after my dad had died.
The best of the GoW games was the final part of the trilogy. It was the only one of the series that I played a bunch online besides the campaign.
