Man, just assemble your own! Nowandays there are SO MANY guides and DIY videos that make it easier than ever. You'll probrably spend less in the end too!
You can't assemble your own laptops...
Also, I could list you a few decent gaming laptops for a little extra but I don't know if you can pay monthly for those (things like the ASUS G73JH). Also, my laptop was top of the range a year and a half ago when I bought it and runs all multiplatform games (and some PC specific ones) maxed out at 1920x1080, or close to. But, for that performance you need to pay more than $1000. So yeah, building a desktop is cheaper, but, if you're after a gaming laptop, you can find decent ones. The price just won't be under $1000 if you're looking into recent games.
I play TF2 at 1920x1080 maxed out at over 60FPS and SC2 at high on the same res and it stays above 30FPS until things get crazy. GPU is the most important factor, as is screen res. Try to get a 1600x900 res screen at most as I found 1920x1080 to be a bit overkill on anything under 17".
As for the mobile GPUS, I'm running the last generation Nvidia 285m and it works great. You might want to go to Notebookreview.com and hit up their forums for more specific advice though - those guys were a great help for me.
