I feel this is entirely justified, good dedicated servers won't come cheap. I could see qualms if most of the servers are actually run by consumers, like most PC games, but they aren't. That or maybe p2p games. You can't have good servers, with good throughput, without getting SOME kind of revenue in return.

@bigjeffrey: Yeah, it's a code. At least that's what the Amazon page implies.

Probably, depends on how it's subsidized. It has some good games, decent controller and Forza. $500 just for Forza at the moment is a little much for me. Most of the other Xbox One exclusive stuff is getting a PC release so I'll picking up those versions anyway.

The DRM/always online stuff doesn't really bother me, because I mostly just play multiplayer games or games that require internet anyway and I never buy used games. I've never really had the option to return or lend games for quite a while now, probably the last time I lent out a PC game was Morrowind.

Don't worry, they're dropping online passes in favor of microtransaction subsidized experiences.

I never type "hella," but because I grew up in the Bay Area it, of course, is a modifier that is forever stapled in my verbal vocabulary.

I know it's not true, but the idea of IGN having spambots post on GB is pretty great. Even better is that the same thing is posted on the comment section of that IGN article. So it's an infinite loop.

They published a bunch of games this gen though. Most of the SMT games that have been released lately seem to be on portables and that's really the only series they seem to develop in-house.
