For one of the most 4chan internet-speak communities around you guys sure are disdainful of internet speak when the GB crew expresses the same. *posts an image macro about it*

I like it if not just for the music / zoning out experience. Love supporting indie devs with high fidelity sound / visuals in music based games.

Lots of Quick Look EX's this week it seems.

Unfortunately.

I don't think that's unfortunate at all. It just means Giant Bomb has become more visible to publishers and they think it is worth their resources to show off their games at the Whiskey Media office. I think it's a good thing.
I'm obviously not referring to the business perspective.  Obviously it's beneficial to WM that publishers and developers have an increased willingness to present their games to this market.  I'm speaking from a content perspective when I say that I don't appreciate a QLEX as much as a standard QL.  Typically the affiliate from the game company alters the mood, perspective and overall tone of the video.

Ultimately; QL>QLEX, in almost every conceivable way.

Besides "Mediumcore" and "Pro", those other difficulties have got to go.

The rest looks pretty neat.

Love the concept of the game. Going backwards in the story instead of forwards is a brilliant idea. As for the gameplay, it looks solid. Will have to give this one a shot.

@24CaretGames: I thought "mediumcore" was actually pretty funny, but the rest, not so much. Thanks for listening to the people though. And you need to make that soundtrack available.

I just read all the comments chronologically forwards – which is backwards to me – out of respect to the theme. Which I really do appreciate by the way. And I think Giant Bomb is probably the only site on the internet set up to give them 20 minutes of straight up air time to show it off.
However...
Another thing that seems to be going backwards is how prepared developers are to give demos. If you don't show up with a fully unlocked version, at least there should be some devmode cheat codes and level skips or something. Especially with the Tomena Sanner / Bit.trip model of no checkpoints. We're used to long videos here, but that 20 minutes of airtime is pretty generous and it shouldn't have to involve replaying a level.
Anyway, good luck with it dudes!

Rule #1 of post 1990's game design: NEVER force a player to replay the entire level. Otherwise looks cool and original. Just iron out those beginner's game design mistakes and they'll have a hit.

There is a time reverse mechanic which lets you come back to before where you die. They mentioned it several times.

@SuperfluousMoniker: We have an old video up on youtube with some levels on the hardest difficulty here. These are some of the easier levels in the game though, so it gets even more challenging. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to put up some video of some later stages soon.

I played this last year at PAX Prime. It's pretty tricky with a guitar. Looks like they've added more difficulty settings since then.

I played this video backward, but the game looked very slow and boring for a shooter, so I'm not even gonna bother watching it forward...

Nifty.

note to the devs:  Don't forget about controller vibrations.  The more vibrations the better.  Multiple controllers support for multiple vibrations alla Rez.  :D

I'm not buying at all that they chose the PS3 because of it's technical abilities. This better come out on XBLA at some point.

At first i was thinking about it in terms of an arcade shooting game, where it just basically took out all of decision making and you just had to have your hand held, but after that last level, it looks really cool.

You act like there is something fishy going on. He also mentioned that working with Sony through PSN works well with their small team.

@jillsandwich: I apologize if it sounded like we implied that we chose the Playstation 3 for its technical abilities. The reason we are doing PS3 is because Sony has a developer friendly program that allow indies to self publish on the platform. We are interested in getting the game out on XBLA as well though.

Good to know. Don't get me wrong, the game looks really really great. I just want to play it. I guess that I have heard quite a bit about the dreaded Xbox Cert process.

If they drop it on 360, consider it sold.  I really like the idea of a trippy electro rhythm game.

Also noticed in the fake credits "A Giant Crab"
