It's a much better game than what we showed, I agree. Unfortunately nothing was unlocked when I got there to do the show. I was hoping to breeze through Garruck and show off the Planechase mode, which is at least interesting, but there just wasn't enough time.

@clydesdale4437 Please do! I was checking out decks at Barnes and Noble tonight. I played a few times in jr high (had a Mirage starter deck) but never really dove into it so I forgot all the rules and I'm sure they've changed since then. They had a dark ascension fat pack there for like $30 at B&N.; Would something like that be a good starter or should I grab the Magic 2013 core fat pack?

@GValo: There's a new base set coming out in July. One of the new starter decks and the new deck builder's tool kit are a good place to start. Or you can go to a game store and get one of the event decks, they are more competitive.

Damn, I hate Duels of the Planeswalkers. I bought the original to catch up with M:tG after so many years, and was completely frustrated. The lack of proper deck editing killed it for me. With pre-set decks it often comes down to luck, like them losing to the 8/8 creature several times in a row. Good for beginners, I guess.

I love MTG but I hate how Wizards of the Coast has made the release cycle even worse than before. Playing it like this is worth it for me and the production values are pretty high. Brad Muir's smile brings light to the darkness of my evil heart.

Yeah, that was super annoying. In the end, it comes down to the last thing you draw. That CPU player got super lucky, annoyingly so.

I have been saying this for a while now but I would be surprised if they don't hire Rorie or are in the process. Total fit for the site as well as the community. Love that guy.
