At first I thought it was just Monster Farm DS getting released here 2 years late, but I'm glad to see that it's Monster Farm DS 2.

Monster Rancher still exists?

Monster Rancher is kinda fun.. The old ones were neat atleast. I like the weird contrived methods of creating monsters =P The best was the old PS1 game where you can put random DVDs and games into your PS1 to see what monster it makes.

Oh how that brings me back.  A friend of mine had it on ps1 and we would scrounge around his house for any cd's or games of whatever we could fit into the ps1 to see what monster it would make. For some reason Half Life always created some monster that was way too strong for us. Never got to find out what it could have been.

I quite enjoyed this series on the PS1. Putting in CDs to find what monster would come out was incredibly addictive. Hopefully they'll come up with something equivalently interesting for this and I may pick it up.

Good trailer in regards to actually show the game. I think i fully understand what it is about and why im staying away.

I remember watching this show but the games all looked so bad. And I'm past the age where something like this would interest me.

I LOVE MONSTER RACNHER!

OMG! IT'S MONSTER RANCHER!!! I used to love these games back on the PS1 & PS2. The nostalgia... oh man it's all coming back to me...

Been dying for a new MR game for years. I've lost countless hours to every version of these games in the past, right back to the original classic on PSX. Unfortunately, looks like they oversimplified the combat system in this one. Ranching and fighting were complex and interesting in equal parts.

The best thing to come of Monster Rancher is the theme song from the show. "I was transported to a far away land. To a world where monsters rule..."

The thing is, to me, the big deal with Monster Rancher was the whole, "YOUR CDS HOLD MONSTERS INSIDE THEM!" schpeel.  With that gone, I'm not very intrigued at all.

Monsters on a ranch that just sounds dangerous.

This is quite timely as I bought a Monster Rancher DVD from a dollar store pretty recently. The show isn't great now, but I remember watching it as a kid. Always thought it was so cool that you could put your CDs in to get new creatures, never played a game though.

Man it's been so long since I have seen Monster Rancher. Then again, I was always more of a Digimon fan.

I played Monster Rancher Advance for way too many hours. I look forward to doing it again with this!

Man I remember the cartoon they made based off the PS1 games, where CD's were hidden in the ground.
 
But more to the point, I don't see the appeal of a Monster Rancher game without the ability to scan some form of media and be able to create new monsters from it.
