A LotR Action RPG? fuck yeah! the GBA LotR RPG, Return of the King,  was the one that i played, it was awesome...shame it doesnt have its own page...deserves one for being different.

Sure, I'll give that a try. I enjoy the LOTR universe apart from the movie characters which kind of ruins most LOTR games for me, so this looks quite interesting. Last LOTR game I enjoyed was the Xbox RPG one, can't recall the name.

I am all over this and look forward to seeing more, hopefully, at E3.

The LotR fiction lends itself well to video games. And I love a good action/RPG. Here's to hoping this turns out well.

Looks great for a CGI trailer but another LOTR game. The Battle for Middle-earth series was good but that was really it apart from The Two Towers and Return of the King action-adventure games.
 
Come to think of it The Third Age was also quite fun. But really, if they want to make a LOTR role-playing game then they shouldn't have canceled The White Council which sounded awesome. And this I know will not cut it, it's not even the same studio.

It's been too long since I've played a good old hack n' slash.

Snowblind Studios makes awesome, underrated games.

I'm intrigued. 
I've been wanting to play another game like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath. 
Not to mention, I really love LOTR.  I got Conquest for God's sake.

YES!

I'm excited about this one, especially if it's a Diablo / Dark Alliance style dungeon crawler, which is what it seems to be.  
 
I am worried about the fact they only mention online co-op though, these sort of games are made for offline couch co-op, and without that I doubt I'll bother with it.

Looks dumb.

Has enough time passed to make the dungeon hack a viable game genre again?  Dark Alliance was great, then some of those Everquest games were pretty good (especially online), Marvel Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends did a good job of it, but then games like Brotherhood of Steel and the D&D games started to stink it up.  Pretty soon there were dungeon crawlers everywhere, even a real shitty Star Wars game based on Episode 1.
 
MUA2 was pretty bad, but the incorporation of the Civil War storyline is likely to blame for most of that.  I guess we'll see.

Still making Lord of the Rings games I see.
 
Maybe if they do something new with this one, maybe set it in a different period than the movies, it could actually be interesting!
 
Or, y'know, it could just be another lame dungeon crawler shoehorned into the movie timeline somewheres. Who knows?

I really hope this does well,seeing as there have been some pretty crappy LOTR games in the past. 
Way to honour one of the greatest fantasy trilogy's of all time.  

On one hand- new LOTR game set in the fuckin northlands where all the awesome shit goes down. Chance to get away from the movie art style and the stor of the books and delve a little deeper into Middle Earth which is actually a lot larger than what we ever see.
 
On the other hand, hack and slash dungeon crawler :(

There's a serious Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance-shaped hole in the offerings for the current generation of consoles. (M:UA was fine but I love a good fantasy hack n' slash.) Let's hope this is the game that finally fills that void.

God, I can't lose this much of my life over a video game again.  Champions of Norrath, Champions: Return to Arms, Justice League Heroes, and now this?  My head is going to explode!!!

I'll never understand why Ryan is into such a bag of dicks game like Dark Alliance. Boringest shit ever, and it felt like an incomplete mess. A shell of a game that only a console acolyte who never touched a good game in the genre like Diablo could like. Well maybe these guys learned how to make a game since then. But as it is, it doesn't even look as good as last year's Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom. If you want some mindless bullshit, there's some better looking stuff out there right now.
