International Superstar Soccer franchise began as part of the Winning Eleven.

    Short summary describing this franchise.

International Superstar Soccer franchise began as part of the Winning Eleven franchise in Japan and the first four games came out in Europe under that title (ISS, ISS Pro 98, ISS Pro Evolution Soccer 1 & 2) then when the Winning Eleven franchise moved to the PS2 it dropped the International Superstar Soccer part of the title as the focus was now more on club football and less on just international football. The franchise still had a life until 2003 as a separate series by Konami's Osaka division  KCEO , mainly on the Gamecube. ISS 1, 2 & 3  were released but due to the lesser quality  and sales in comparison to the Winning Eleven / Pro Evo games it was canceled.
