We had the Holy Land and we'll have Italy soon, but what do you think will be the location of the third game?
Assasin's Creed 3 Location Suggestions.
Still too early to tell. But if the current trend is a new time period each time, I would like to see World War II or something like that as a possible timepiece. That would be interesting to see.
" I think I remember hearing it would be present day and you would play as desmond in it. If not then early 1900's nyc "Woh.....never thought of that. But being a more modern assassin in early-mid 1900s NYC would be bloody awesome. They'd have to find a way to incorporate the free-running and templars and such, but that would just be such an interesting setting.....doubt it will happen but still....

" China or Japan. I know it wouldn't make any sense in the story, but the environments would be a breath of fresh air after two games set in Europe. East Asian architecture is really beautiful, and running around as a ninja would be awesome. "An AC esc game set in China or japan would be pretty cool, but really if I'm parkouring on the roofs in Japan I want it to be a ridiculous ninja game with magic and demons.
18th century America. Perhaps in Philadelphia. right around 1775, just when the revolution was about taking place. it makes for a GREAT setting for a shady asssasin to run around, and then they could use Ben Franklin to give all kinds of silly inventions to use.
(obvious bias on the philly part lol, but it makes sense)
Did they say it was going to be a trilogy? I don't remember. If it continues to sell 5m+ then I suspect the (possible) trilogy idea will be discarded in favour of making more. I think there are way too many great settings they could explore before cutting to Desmond/Modern (which I think will be weak - I really like the historical flavour).
AC1: Crusades 12th Century
AC2: Italy 15th Century
AC3: Spanish Conquest of Aztecs 16th Century
Make a group within the Conquistadors the Templars (led by Hernan Cortes) and they're there looking for a magic AC artifact or whatever (hence why the steal every scrap of gold they can). Tenochtitlan (Later Mexico City) was already a proper city by that time (pop ~200k) and the dude in charge of it was called Cuauhtemoc, which apparently means Falling Eagle.

" @Icemael said:I don't think AC's gameplay would fit a game with demons and other supernatural stuff, but I think they could add some really cool - yet still kinda realistic -- features in a game set in East Asia. For example, the ability to stab people through rice-paper walls would be awesome as fuck." China or Japan. And ninjas have been done to death - I think they will go out of their way to avoid ninjas.
I would liked to have seen Rome during the empire, but that would be going backwards in time. I'm down for some action in London.
As much as I want to see ACIII set in East Asia, I demand no more ninjas. It's been done to death and I'm pretty sure the Japanese already have made a lot of "ninja games" to satisfy you.
Although it might not fit in the storyline, I really want to see it in Ancient China. That's because assassins kill emperors to overthrow a dynasty... almost every time. Not only is the Chinese setting really underdone (Jade Empire is really the only game that at least attempted the oriental theme), I would want to see how Ubisoft explains the bloodlines shift all the way to China.

"Altair and his buddy find the globe/map thing at the end of AC1 so they could take the story anywhere they want after that. He's effectively just discovered the Americas 300 years before Columbus.
I think it would be careless of Ubisoft to jump to modern day too quickly and kill off the franchise. I also think the gameplay falls apart once you get firearms beyond say, muskets.
As someone has said before, Enlightenment or Victorian England would be pretty cool. As Jimbo has said, It's too early to jump to modern day and the the settings of 18th-19th England are awesome.

There's this classic stealth franchise set in a fictional Victorian Era with a hooded main character and some kickass ninja gear, steals stuff and occasional kills bad guys." The franchise is called Thief. Just like how AC used the word "assassin" in its title.
Somewhere in Asia would seem cool on the surface but I don't think it would quite fit the series.
Industrial revolution England would be awesome. As would Civil War era America. I liked the idea of the French Revolution as well but I don't think I would want it now as I would be looking for something that was a complete departure.
