The ARMY MEN series man i must of played all of them minus the last 2 gd times
Bad / Poor games you kinda liked
The original Godfather game for PS2 was mediocre- gameplay and story wise, but, dude, I played the HELL out of that game.
I'm one of the ten people who thoroughly enjoyed Mercenaries 2. I mean, it had a Tactical Bunker Busting Nuke. A fucking Tac Nuke. And you could catch those fucking trees on fire or blow them up or run them over with a tank. I got my revenge on the bastards shortly after I put in the disc, all the trouble those invincible trees put me through in Mercs 1...
I liked Prototype a lot, though that one Green boss fight in times square was an utter bitch the first time, then a time-sink the next. True Crime: Streets of L.A. was awesome too. I wouldn't mind playing Deadly Premonition, but I don't have it.
Minority Report on the old Xbox. I spent hours upon hours enabling that "Both triggers = Ragdoll" cheat, going through the riot level throwing myself into shit like tables and chairs. If you got it timed right, you could jump, ragdoll immediately, and hit the invisible ceiling with your body due to the physics, or launch yourself across the level or into a normally inaccessible spot.
@lead_farmer: I had that for the Xbox. I loved that game so, so, so, so much. Hours playing split screen were awesome.
" okay u guys... u need to understand 90% of these games are at least average maybe some of them poor but the majority are 7 ish's "Can I ask who left you in charge of video games?
It makes me sad that Bushido Blade & God Hand are even mentioned here.
I liked Blood Will Tell on the PS2. Now that was a good bad game.
" @kishan6 said:But he has a point. if a scale of 1-5 is something like bad / poor / average / good / great then this thread is asking for clearly below average games and most -- including the one I just mentioned -- seemed to score in the 60s and 70s (or 3 out of 5) at worst." okay u guys... u need to understand 90% of these games are at least average maybe some of them poor but the majority are 7 ish's "Can I ask who left you in charge of video games? " Guilty pleasures?Star Wars Bounty Hunter <3"
- The Simpsons Road Rage
- Star Wars Bounty Hunter
- Resident Evil Survivor
- Rayman 3
and AVP
I know it's not necessarily considered a bad game but I absolutely loved Bioshock 2. But the part where I seem to deviate from popular opinion is I actually think it was much better than the original.
I never thought the story of the first game was as great as everybody made it out to be. So a sequel with improved mechanics, new weapons, those awesome moments where you protect the Little Sisters, all of that was amazing. Absolutely loved that game.
Dark Void. Abusing the jetpack was fun.
Sonic Unleashed (360). Game was pretty fun, especially when you started to get the daytime levels somewhat memorized. The platforming on the night sections wasn't half bad either, though I'll admit that the combat was incredibly dull.
The new AvP game also had some pretty fun multiplayer. Just a shame about the whole dedicated servers ordeal and the lack of maps.
What if it's a "bad game" you think is good like Brutal Legend? :D
People said Freedom Fighters was mediocre but I loved it.
UT3 as well, I really liked UT3....
I don't know why, it's a pretty terrible game and it's nothing like the rest of the series, but Samurai Shodown Sen is a whole lot of fun if you don't take it seriously. There's a huge amount of characters, most of which seem to be exclusive to this game and who have absolutely no relevance to Samurais or Japan. However, that's kinda the way the game's always been. And being able to play a kind of Soul Caliburish version of all the classic characters is also pretty fun. But again, looking at the game from an objective viewpoint, there's absolutely no reason I should like this game. And yet me and a couple of friends continue to keep playing it and getting good at it.
" All of the Dynasty Warriors games lol. "My friend would beat you to death for even suggesting that the series is less than perfect.
" @MysteriousBob: Haha don't get me wrong I love them but even the people who love them can admit that depth wise, theyre poo. xD "I was playing DS4 on my PS2 last week. Yeah, they're pretty badly made games- but they're fun and the gameplay is solid.
I would love to see what they could do with a bigger budget.
Ok so my next game is only considered bad if you dont ask a fanboy. But I really liked Final Fantasy X. Its one of those games that may have done well in the reviews but great many of gamers despise the game for one reason or another. So depending on who you ask, FFX is a good game or its a bad one.
I love FFVIII. Now that right there is an infinitely more controversial statement among the FF community of nutters." Ok so my next game is only considered bad if you dont ask a fanboy. Exactly what I was thinking. Imagine an RTS where you physically fight on the battlefield with some RPG aspects." @MysteriousBob: Yeah! I would love another Dynasty Warriors, DW7 oh yeaah but if they spent more money and time they could improve it so much. If they added a deep RTS factor to the series like Romance of the three kingdoms, that would be awesome :) "
" @Ashtwin said:Oh tell me about it, anytime someone says "I didnt like FFVII" the kneejerk reaction is "Stop trolling".I love FFVIII. I liked this shitty Xbox game called Rogue Ops when i was younger.
Well, there are no games that I would consider bad that I liked a lot. That wouldn't really make sense. If you genuinely like a game, then regardless of how many subpar elements you may recognize in it, it overall must be a good game to you.
As for a game I like that wasn't all that well received by others, that would be Dark Messiah. Interestingly, my feelings were pretty in line with the general consensus the first time I played it. Yet I felt compelled not long after to play through it again (as a different class). Every time I played through it, I better learned how to deal with the issues the game has, and better learned how to squeeze everything out of the high points in the game I could.
I just very recently did a trio of playthroughs of Dark Messiah back to back (mage, assassin, warrior), which has brought me up to somewhere just over 10 playthroughs of the game. It is by far the most appealingly replayable single player game I've ever played, which is weird because I still think the game is just good, not great (I've learned to deal with the game's issues, not ignore them). But it's the satisfaction, variety, and uniqueness of the game's high points that bring me back.
" But if you like it doesnt that mean it isnt poor or bad, since those two words and every other review of that game is entirely opinion? "The point is that you can realise a game is badly made, but still enjoy it.
