Microsoft seems really confident in Natal to say that they are going to kill the Wii so what do you think about this?
Will Natal kill Wii and PS3?
Oh man, I can't wait for that gimmick to 'kill' the PS3 and the Wii. Yeah, that's going to be awesome.
people already get tired of doing shit with the wii, now your asking them to get up.... lol this is going to die out fast
Wait, people expect Natal to "kill the wii?" Hell no. There will always be games with "party" in the title for unsuspecting soccer moms and grandparents to purchase!
Natal will probably do well, but as well as the wii 3 years ago? No.
"Of course they are going to say that. We will have to wait and see but I don't think it's going to happen.Microsoft seems really confident in Natal to say that they are going to kill the Wii so what do you think about this?

" @Hitchenson said:Hm, we'll have Eyetoy 2.0, Natal (Latin for gimmick) and waggle stick. Nice." Oh man, I can't wait for that gimmick to 'kill' the PS3 and the Wii. Yeah, that's going to be awesome. "Sony is making motion controls too. "
No... wait... what? Kill the PS3 and Wii... is this really what people think is going to happen? No not at all. Even if it becomes more successful than Microsoft could ever imagine(and they probably have some pretty wild imaginations) it won't kill those systems. Think of it like the Wii, and lets be honest the 360 is going to outselling the Wii because of this, the 360 and PS3 are still doing fine despite the Wii selling gangbusters... even when that thing was doing its best the 360 and PS3 were just fine... at least on our end.
Is this what the delusional fanboy wants to happen? Guess what? The day the Wii and PS3 die, like die is the day we don't see any innovation from Microsoft, the day we no longer get XBL updates, the day Microsoft quits paying companies like Epic and Bungie and Bioware insane amounts of cash to make the games you love.
It won't. Natal is an optional accessory. Not everyone with a 360 is going to buy one, and not every game that comes out from the point of its release on will support it. The actual game applications of Natal are still suspect as well since all we've seen up to this point are tech demos.
" No. no one can destroy the extreme powerhouse that is the Wii, and plus Console Add-ons haven't really been proven successful. "Exactly, natal reminds me of the Wii balance board in a way simply because it is advertising itself as a new way to play games yet at the same time will be completely optional. I never bought a balance board and never plan to so my chances of getting natal are slim to none. I think the only addon I have ever bought is the N64 expansion pack thing, for obvious reasons too.
I absolutely hate threads like this, for such discussion is pointless at this time and only fuels console wars.
It’s been a while since I have seen anything on natal (Not for lack of information out there) I just don't care about it.
However to answer your question, I don't think it will kill either system. Playstation is also coming out with a motion controller which I think seems more "functional" (I don't actually own a ps3) and just like natal, I have not gone out of my way to find information on the Ps3's motion control. E3 is probably the first and as of right now, only time I have actually read/watched anything regarding these products.
Back on topic, had either, Microsoft or Sony released there motion controllers (Or whatever you want to call them) before the Wii was released I think they would of done great but lets face it Wii sucks. Yes, it kicked ass in terms of sales but there are few games worth playing and the whole motion control is just garbage, it was great for the first 30 minuets out of the box then it became the same movements over and over. Games like tennis, golf ect.. are great on the wii but not worth buying one.
I do think that Motion sensing has a future in gaming and wii has done some good groundwork and Natal will probably add to that groundwork but I don't think it's going to be anything amazing. Critics and the general population seem to go crazy for everything Microsoft does. And well they have done some good things, I don't think natal will be as great as people think it will.
F.Y.I I own a 360 and love it, I'm not a fanboy hating on Microsoft just because there not "my company"
" In order to even live, Microsoft needs to put it front and center. Make it the MAIN WAY to play, not a secondary controller. Otherwise, it's just an add-on. And you know what happens to console hardware add-ons (Sega CD, Sega 32X, 64DD, PS2 HDD, 360 HD-DVD) "Oh man, I really hope they don't try to push it as a 'main way' to play or make it mandatory.
so you think a camera will kill two other consoles?
sorry my boy but I have no words for how stupid that is
lol no seriosu game can be made with only full body motion control and I hope you all realize this. A game without buttons? BTW the eye camera already does the same look @ eyepet it doesn't require peripherals and reads you fine.
While Natal impressed me at E3, I'm gonna have to wait and try it out for myself before I can get too excited over it. I mean, look at how poorly executed the Wii ended up being. Great concept, but that doesn't mean much if the game plays poorly. Also, even if Natal works, which I doubt, I don't think the Wii or PS3 will have all that much to worry about. Though they might need to start thinking long and hard about next-gen if Natal blows everything away.
It will just bring a fuckton of Wii-style minigame collections to the xbox. It might hurt Wii sales and such, but only a little bit...
How can a optional supplemental peripheral kill two competitors?
It will introduce some new mechanics to the way we already play games, but that's it.
There's still a LOT of misinformation about it, on both sides. See below:

THIS WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER HAPPEN EVER! This is the reason so many people blindly hate it.
The most common application will be to SUPPLEMENT the controller (ie: leaning shoulders to peek around corners, adjusting head to look around the inside of a cockpit, and various other things that current PC head tracking devices do plus more). Sure there will be games that require it, but those most likely won't be the types of games we play.
