It's my Birthday/ My dog died last night

So today is my 16th birthday! *gasps* Yes I know I'm only 16. But it isn't a very "happy" birthday since my dog died last night. He was only 4 and we have no idea what happened. It's hard to believe that he is gone. I'll never be able to see his face again. I was at rehearsal at school when my parents took him to the vet. I never even got the chance to say Good-Bye. It's been a pretty rough b-day altogether though. I can never replace him, he truly was man's best friend. Does anyone here know what the price for a lab is at Petsmart? I can't replace him but I now know that I need to cherish my pets. I never played with him enough and he was a great dog. I just never thought he would die this soon. I'm saving up my money for a new lab so I'm just trying to get an idea of how much they would cost.

Holy shit I laughed so hard (sorry) at this. Terribly sorry, but that blackly humorous. Happy Birthday man, sorry for your loss. I wouldn't know what it's like to lose a pet, never had one myself.

Hope your day gets better. I had my birthday about 5 days ago(april 1). I know my 16th b-day was rough, because that was the start of my troubles in high school. Hope you handle HS better than I did.

Sorry about your dog dieing. Unfortunately for me, at the time we put my old dog to sleep I was addicted to Diablo II. I didn't even say good-bye. This was at least 5 years ago, but fuck, I felt like the biggest asshole. I was the only one who could take Rosie into my fort made of bed sheets and save her from my sister. Just remember the good times.

I lost one of my dogs, not cool. I have one left and I have decided not to buy another one, don't like loosing dogs. Plus I don't have much time to spend with the one left now that my parents separated, so this will be my last dog.

The lose of a pet is tragic.  Just try to have a good b-day and think about looking at different dogs tomorrow.  As for the price of a new Lab, I have no idea.

Thats a shame but happy birthday none the less. i have a dog almost a year old. i've had it since it was like a month old. it knows a bunch of tricks and is incredibly loyal and docile (except when she hears people outside). i would be heart broken if the same thing happened to me.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm pretty sure petsmart doesn't sell dogs but you could go to a shelter and get a lab for $200.

I don't think science has advanced to the point where you can reanimate your dog.  Don't waste a bunch of money on a new lab.  The technology just isn't there yet.

My 16th was with a bunch of dudes I didn't know in a rented hot tub in my front yard as part of a surprise party. SURPRISE You're family thinks you're gay.
I think I would have preferred cherishing the halcyon days of a beloved pet then making awkward small talk with  a group of strangers.

Sorry to hear it, WSS. I lost my dog recently, not long after my 19th birthday, and it's still really tough not having her around. Things will get easier. Hope you had a good birthday. Take it easy duder.

Happy (late?) Birthday! I'd really strongly suggest adopting a dog instead of buying one from a pet store. After hearing about puppy mills and their business with pet stores, I'd only ever adopt a dog. Look into adopting at your local SPCA/ASPCA or whatever.

Sorry to here that dude. I have had my dog for 12 years. I know when he dies its going to be a really sad day.
