Heroism and Misfortune

Oddworld can be a cruel place, from the mechanically enhanced gun toting stupidity of a patrolling Slig to the razor sharp beak of a ferocious crab-beast Scrab, you have to watch where you step. Once a beautiful and vivid world the Oddworld is being viciously destroyed by greed fueld megalithic corporate famalies. Meat packing, bone mining and animal experementation super factories domminate the landscape and darken the sky with choking pillars of filth. Selected by the fickle finger of fate certain unlikley heroes will come forth to haphasardly and more often than not unwillingly rescue the enslaved, free the soon-to-be-pie and just maybe give the greedy a bit of what they deserve.

Return of Oddworld

After the shutdown of Oddworld Inhabitance in 2005, the Oddworld series future was unknown. In May 2008, Jeff Braun, co-founder of Maxis announced that he would be working with Oddworld Inhabitants on the next Oddworld and stated that it would feature "revolutionary new 3-D animation system" and "cinematic quality on a '1 to 1 scale' to that of computer-generated motion pictures,". He said about the development team, "They're such a talented group of people and I really trust their ability to create compelling content."
There is no date, name or platforms set yet for the game but Braun noted that because of a slow production schedule it could make it "years" before the game is released, possibly making it one of the first next-gen games announced.
It is not known what involvement, if any, Lorne Lanning will have with the game.

Unreleased Oddworld Games

SligStorm. It would have followed the story of an albino Slig, born in a complex it must escape to avoid infanticide.
Oddworld: Munch's Exoddus. Expected to be a bonus game based on Munch's Oddysee.
Oddworld: Squeek's Oddysee. Expected third game in Quintology.
Oddworld: Nod's Oddysee. Was never planned, and Lorne comfirmed this.
Oddworld: The Hand of Odd. A real-time strategy game planned to be online.
