I would if i had a backwards compatable version,, Original ps3's are to god damn expensive,, and why would it be a deal breaker? its another console with better graphics, not a new version of the ps2..
I can see it being a deal-breaker if revisiting PS2 games is important to someone. The PS2 will stop being produced at some point, after all, so a backward compatible console would ensure you'd be able to revisit old favorites easily in the event that the old console dies and is expensive to replace.
I don't have a PS3 with backward compatibility, so I can't even if I wanted to (and I have wanted to do so, sometimes).

Definitely not. I just see it as a nice bonus if included. I still have my PS2 set up, so it's not really a problem. Only reason I ever wish it were still around is when I'm feeling too lazy to turn on the ol' PS2.
