It's a good game for that price. I was really disappointed in it because of its potential but still a pretty fun game for cheap. You can probably beat it in one sitting too.
Call of Duty 2 -- Don't know why they didn't make CoD 3 on PC or that probably would have been the last one I bought. I'm glad my PC couldn't handle CoD 4 because after watching it more and more and finally playing it on console, I thought the franchise was over.
My go to will always be Deus Ex for this situation. Still my favorite single player game of all time. If you liked it, play The Nameless Mod too. It doesn't take itself too seriously but it's one of the best single player mods out there for any game IMO.
I'll also give a nod to Legend of Grimrock which was mentioned here already. I never played a dungeon crawler but got it for ~$6 and fell in love with it.
If you really enjoy dungeon crawling, I recommend Dungeons of Dredmor which I liked a lot more than Binding of Isaac. There is just so much versatility to that game that anybody could play it any way they want whether they think that's the best load out or just to fuck around.
PS2 controller -- I tried using one of the original PSX controllers before they got the analog sticks and bigger shoulder buttons and the bottom of the hand grips were flat which I forgot about and just don't feel too natural.
I like the shoulder buttons more on the PS2 controllers than PS3 which is why that one gets my vote.
I never liked the XBox controllers just because of the bumper buttons. They feel like they're just kind of thrown on and don't feel natural using them at all. Aside from that, other than nostalgic purposes, I'm not sure why you'd vote the older controllers. They just weren't ever nearly as comfortable as controllers today.
Anyone bring up Brutal Legend yet? I was sold on the idea of a Heavy Metal Zelda but got a shitty RTS/Action game that all the Tim Schaffer charm in the world couldn't save.
I have to agree with these two, especially Brutal Legend. I also wanted a Heavy Metal Zelda game and stopped right at the RTS part where I thought the game was just horrible. Sniper Elite V2 also left me really disappointed too to add to the sniper theme. I had just finished the original about a month before the second came out and was really excited and ended up buying it early. The whole thing was about 2/3 as long, the stealth just wasn't there, they forced you into shootouts, etc.
As far as AAA titles, the whole Assassin's Creed series (I loved the first couple hours of the 1st and then muscled through it, excitedly I got the 2nd hearing how improved it was and felt it was even worse) and Bioshock 2. Also Fallout 3 because of the terrible gunplay in it. I did buy it for PC too hoping it'd do better as a PC game but haven't given it another chance yet. After Fallout 3 though, I stopped going after most AAA titles unless it was for a series I love like Deus Ex or Portal. Only AAA game that I took a chance on that I'm actually glad I did was Dishonored...
