A setting that doesn't need an encyclopedia to get into...

A combat system with more direct feedback...

A FPS co-developed between People Can Fly and Platinum; it doesn't even have to be licensed... Just let Platinum design the world and enemies, and PCF design the combat and the weapons.

Give the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure licence to the people inside CyberConnect2 that made Asura's Wrath. Just let them focus on Stardust Crusader, but give them the resources to make the story mode like the Asura/Naruto games...

A Telltale game based on the True Detective world; just amp up the supernatural...

Platinum Games, anyone? :D

Yeah... that is so clear it sounds like the obvious match-up

I've always wanted a full fledged RPG in the Avatar universe. I know Platinum is doing that Legend of Korra game, and I think it will be pretty good for what it is (that being a $15 download only character action game that will likely only be a few hours long), but it's by no means my dream game for that universe.

I've always thought an RPG set in the universe but not directly relating to any specific storylines could be great. You wouldn't even have to be the Avatar, instead you get the option to create a character and choose your combat style, be it one of the four types of bending or a martial arts/weapon specialist. The world is just full of detail and has clearly established lore, so telling an entirely original story with new characters would present tons of opportunity.

As far as a developer is concerned, I don't have any specifically in mind. I think any proficient WRPG developer would be my ideal choice as long as the writing and story was handled primarily by those that created the shows. If I had to pick one developer however, I'd probably go with Obsidian since they tend to make great RPGs and they've shown many times that they are very good when it comes to working with someone else's material (most recently with South Park and previously with KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, and Fallout).

How about Level 5? I think an Avatar set in Ang times, in the lines of Dragon Quest 8 or Rogue Galaxy would be pretty awesome...

I am more annoyed by the fact the openings and endings were just an afterthought...

I know Capcom cares little about its lore, but this is Street Fighter, damn it... put some production value into it.

Rovio... ? PopCap... ? Mojang... ? King, possibly?

Seriously, as much as I don't think highly of stories like Zelda, Call of Duty, or the last Final Fantasy, they are literal geniuses in comparison with people in the mobile and casual market...

Thus the OPs 'AAA' qualifier. Rovio, Popcap, Mojang and King are pretty much the opposite of triple A developers.

Ok. Some of them are pretty big, but I guess none of their products qualifies like AAA.

It was sort of a cop out answer, so here is another: EA Sports...

No? Ok, ok... seriously now. Probably Capcom. The closest they have of an engrossing narrative in AAA market is Resident Evil, and that went downhill a long time ago.

Why Mortal Kombat, WHY? Why must you give into the shitting nature that is pre-order content? Especially when it's a character in a fighting game. Hey, you know you're going to buy this game, but if you don't spend your money early fuck you, you can't play this character.

Because they are owned by Warner Bros, which are the worst offenders in terms of preorder and new games content.

The stuff they pulled for Injustice was pretty crappy, and lets not even go into Arkham City's deal...

I didn't care much about Heavenly Sword either. The only reason I bought that game was that the PS3 lineup was a wasteland, and it was unplayable for me for months... I also feel that while many people was impressed with the performance, the lines were cringe worthy. The script made God of War looked like classic literature.

But I did enjoy DmC, more than I have enjoyed a DMC game in a long time (certainly more than DMC 4), so I can't really say I see a pattern of crappyness here...

My vote goes for both.

Of course, headcrabs are more dangerous, but real crabs look creepy as hell, with the added bonus of being real.

Given his love for wrestling and all things action, I think he would enjoy some shonen.

The problem with series like DBZ or Bleach, is that they take forever to get anywhere interesting.

Something like FMA: Brotherhood or Cowboy Beebop (relatively short shonen series) seems like the safer bet.
